haha Reminds me, I stopped at the credit union yesterday and the guy ahead of me was trying to deposit a check and get a little cash. He said he wanted $50 in one dollar bills and mumbled to the female cashier, that he needed the money because he was tired of paying the taxi drivers with quarters. (seriously?) I might have believed him except 1) there wasn't any taxi in the parking lot, although there was a Jeep illegally parked sideways, across the only handicapped spot. 2) He was so flustered asking for the dollar bills, he actually told her he wanted cash. Only after she started counting out a pile of $100s did he realize screwed up and had to cancel the whole transaction and start over. We were the only two customers in the place and when I left, the Jeep was gone. Hmmm You weren't in Baldwinsville NY yesterday were you?
Let me further what I was attempting to say when I started this thread. This is America's Game (Sorry Baseball), biggest sporting event on the planet. They sing God Bless America, National Anthem of America, Huge honor and support for this country's Military, so in my mind, the half-time entertainment should be American performers. Now if the same content was provided by American performers, there should still be concern from having adult themed performances to a supposedly "family" audience.
Since Jennifer Lopez IS AMERICAN, I kinda wonder exactly what you're saying here. Are you saying she's not really an American because she looks or sounds different, or did you not know she was born in the Bronx?
Well Roam, just have to say it, I was wrong - I knew she grew up in the Bronx but thought she was born in Puerto Rico - and yada yada yada about it being a territory of the US. I was wrong and I admit it. Still didn't like the performance and just learned today that Shakira is 43 !!! I knew J-Lo was 50 and looking good for her age, but I assumed Shakira to be around 30ish. So kudos to both ladies for keeping up and staying in great shape. But I long for some classic American Rock bands to be featured again during the halftime show.

Honestly, I haven't watched a halftime show since the Rolling Stones....Not sure, but I believe that was the year the Steelers played the Seahawks. Okay, I think I saw some of Bruno Mars a few years ago. But I really don't care about these over-the-top halftime show extravaganzas. I'd rather they let a top local high school marching band play, do something to honor our veterans and current military, then get back to football.
