I listened to the game on PSU radio but watched the highlights on You Tube. The Ford TD run at the end of regulation was frustrating when you realize it was obvious no one from Indiana was even remotely trying to stop him. I think even Ford found it strange because he slowed up and almost stopped. Heck, if he realized what was happening, he could even had turned sideways and run laterally for a while to run down the clock!!
Franklin should have just had Clifford knell down 3 times to run out the clock and if time remained, then kick the short field goal. The error was with Franklin on this one...

Forget the FG. Take three knees and give them the ball back on the 14 with less than 30 secs to go. If they drive 86 yards in 30 secs, then so be it. Ford is NOT an experienced player, I don't blame him one bit. For crying out loud, JF is making $5M a year. Pay somebody $1000 per game (out of his pocket) to keep time if he can't.
JF has blown a lot of games at PSU and you add this to the running list!
@mtnittanylion come on now it’s just 1 game this happens to all coaches. I’m as upset as everybody else but James Franklin and Penn State are the 2nd best in the big 10. Guys we have a good football team their record speaks for itself the last 6 years. I agree this was a tough loss and it’s on James Franklin but let’s not run him out of town because of 1 loss. Meyer had some tough losses at Ohio State it happens we just notice when it happens to penn State because we watch’em every week other coaches F up to. Let’s see how the season goes I’m telling ya we’ll have a good season we just won’t be in the playoffs like I said earlier. I believe the offense was clicking in the 4th and it will only get better. Our defense just didn’t get it done in crunch time.
