I actually don't think that's true, though it's a good soundbite. It matters where your money comes from, not how much you make or what car you drive.
If a kid makes millions on youtube as an influencer and then goes to college to play football, that doesn't make him a professional athlete.
I do think NIL is out of control, but context does matter in certain cases.
Yep, it matters where your money comes from and in this case, it has nothing to do with youtube. Bowden was referring to OSU QB C.J. Stroud. Here's the latest : "Sarchione Auto Gallery, a local luxury vehicle dealership in Belden, Ohio offered Buckeye’s quarterback a $150,000 Bentley Bentayga in a NIL deal, but the 21-year-old athlete later changed his mind and opted for a $200,000 Mercedes G-Wagen.
I don't know Southern, as the old saying goes "How do you keep them down on the farm after they've seen gay Paree?".
@rip if these gas prices don’t get under control I’d think most companies will cut off spending any money that’s not necessary. This NIL is still new I believe in time it will slow way down. BK, I’m on a 2 week vacation been gettin stuff done around the house this week and playing in the swimming pool we’ve had a few cookouts this week and I got all the grass cut and we’re headed down to Orange Beach Alabama in the morning for 7 nights. Man I can’t wait to get me some good ole fried shrimp and fish basket. I’ve lost 30 pounds but I’ll probably put 10 back on this week coming up 😂 Still waiting on my Penn St football magazine it ain’t come in yet.
Working around the house, swimming, cookouts, vacation - it doesn't get much better! You're my idol, Southern. How much would you ask for your NIL rights? Just kidding, LOL, enjoy yourself friend - life is short!
