@been-there-ii : I never understood the term GOAT to begin with.Β Since time hasnt ended and it still marches on, isnt it a bit early to call anyone the greatest of all time??
OR,
Shouldnt each sport have a GOAT?Β Every job??
Funny how a discussion goes from a comparison between JP and JF and evolves into this.Β Where's the outcries for this to be moved to the Water cooler??

Personally I think of GOAT more in terms of eras, not so much "the greatest to ever play xxxxxx sport". Saban's era was very different from Bear Bryant's, and Paterno's was very different from Fielding Yost's. Even in other sports, Jordan's era was very different from LeBron's just as Tom Brady's was extremely different than the era Johnny Unitas played in.
While any argument of who's better than who would obviously come down to personal opinions, at least limiting it to people from similar eras makes it less biased IMO. I'd assume this is the case in many sports, even wrestling.
@t-hale Totally agree, maybe Greatest So Far, maybe? But that doesn't have a catchy acronym. I've been a goat a time or two, those easy pop up fly balls, that you have too much time to think about...then drop. But in those days, being a goat wasn't what it is today.
Well we all know JoePA was a scapegoat 🤷♂️
@roaminglion Speaking of GOATs, will be interesting to see if Brady can bend the rules enough to play for Miami next season.
