Definitely 25, maybe as high as 27 or 28 with greyshirts. With all the transfers and guys that left early they can go over 25.

I'd be surprised if we greyshirted anyone... Have we ever greyshirted? I honestly don't know

Don't know as I've ever heard of PSU greyshirting anyone. But I forget easily, unless it's a good grudge!

No, transfers and other departures don't raise the 25 per-class limit, although it will create some openings in the 85 total scholarship limit.

So you can take in transfers and go over 25 but can only recruit 25 out of high school? Hope I’m saying it right

No Southern, only 25 initial scholarships per year.  Transfers count in that number as well, whether jucos, 4-year undergrad transfers, or graduate transfers.

A transfer does count to the 25. The 25 number is the "initial counters" at the school, meaning 25 new players with new scholarships. That can be a high schooler, a JUCO, or a graduate transfer. They are all counted, either with a previous class or the class coming up.

What I'd like to see is the transfer portal initiate a deadline that coincides with the final signing day. That way, there's no more moving around once teams are done with their scholarships. Also, there would be no kids dropping out after spring just because they don't like their depth chart spot. Either make up your mind by the beginning of February, or you have to sit the next year regardless.
