I think they’re fudging the numbers because regardless of why somebody dies if they have the coronavirus they say it’s the coronavirus that kills even if you die of a heart attack and that’s BS IMO. I believe the virus is real and it can kill people I’m just hoping it’s not as bad as we thought. No way Trump shuts down the country if he didn’t think it was deadly. As someone who worked in healthcare for 10 years in the NY/NJ area, and someone who is married to a trauma/ICU surgeon who trained in the NY/NJ area, we know quite a lot of healthcare professionals in that area.

As someone who currently works in healthcare, and is married to an ICU nurse who is taking care of COVID patients, this is a short sighted, skewed, and ignorant response. If you think it is being overhyped, you should go volunteer at a hospital and help out.

Honestly determining cause of death is more of an art than science. If you get Coronavirus and have a heart attack, it can be determined either way based on the severity of each, underlying factors, etc.

Greetings gentlemen... I hope all of you are well... I may not know much about football, sports, politics or many subjects but I can say that I am an expert on death... Anybody that thinks this is the flu or a hoax or anything else is a flaming idiot... I have been working 18 to 20 hour days and we as a community can't keep up with it... I wish I could take pictures of the refrigeration trucks at these hospitals... I am gonna warn all of you... Take this seriously as it is gonna come to your town at some point... This fall and winter is gonna be worse... This isn't a political thing and shouldn't be made to be... This is a pandemic and a serious one at that... This won't be over here in New York til June and the rest of the country is gonna take their turn... Did it ever occur to you that perhaps the numbers didn’t reach the projections due to the state governors invoking the stay at home and social distancing measures? The U.S has more confirmed cases (with the least amount of testing per population) and the highest amount of deaths than any other country and you want to argue about the numbers diagnosed and somehow think it’s for profit? C’mon, your better than that. Why on earth would anyone think this is for profit? Who’s profiting? There was a report the other day that Jefferson University health system in Philadelphia is losing up to $120 million dollars per month by cancelling elective tests and procedures. The US could say that people are dying of heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, and some other things so that the coronavirus numbers look lower to appease people like you, but that would be misinformation, and there is a lot of that going on from the top down. Plus, that would make us no better at reporting facts than China, would it? Ultimately, the virus is causing multisystem organ failure in patients so it’s difficult to tell what is actually causing the death, but it’s all linked to the virus.
