The Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals all asked to interview him this past year. The Detroit Lions offered him the job in 2021.
He also turned down the FSU job that eventually went to Norvell and was courted by other high profile college positions. Looks like we were just the position he was looking for.
Recruiting to Ames is... HARD. He always did more with less, and he teams are always pretty tough defensively.

From what I've heard about Cael, same motto.Also, I love he's a process guy. No more 1-0 crap, making it all about winning. His credo is "our goal is to be the best version of ourself"

This guy certainly isn't anybody that I was even thinking PSU would go and get...When I first heard about the hire I said to a couple of my employees "You have got to be shitting me"...I was less than enthused to say the least but one of them who I call "the kid" hit me with a pearl of wisdom...He said "Chief what do you know about this guy? He can't be that bad or they wouldn't have hired him"...So I immediately went to my office and looked him up...I have changed my mind...I really like the hire and think he can take the program to the next step...I see he kept on Terry and I like that as well...He must have passed muster with the money guys so as long as they are back in the fold and support him who the hell am I? Welcome Coach Campbell and lets get that B1G and National Championship...He is a VERY well thought of coach and was wanted by many big name programs and even the NFL...I believe we found ourselves a coach...I am just curious how he fits in with the Penn State way and what culture he brings along with him...I am excited for the program...
