Is Mississippi State a better job than Rutgers? I don’t know lol
Instead of worrying about paying players maybe someone should pass a law that says you can't fire a coach if it requires a buyout to get rid of him. Wait until the contract is up and don't renew it. Now if there is a cause like hitting a player or cheating that is a different story, but then there shouldn't be a buyout. Half of college football teams lose every week.

I would think Mississippi St is a better job than Rutgers. Not much better but better.
It's still in Mississippi. You can find a book in NJ. Good luck doing that in Mississippi.

You have a point there. I wasn't thinking, location, location, location.
New Jersey is "The Garden State" whereas Mississippi is "The Magnolia State" and "The Hospitality State".
Lets tell it like it is and forget all the baloney...Comes down to one word...M. O. N. E. Y....Whoever comes up with the most Benjamins will be where he coaches...I am sure Rutgers and the New York City market would provide much more endorsement revenue for Moorhead but the taxes are steep and who knows what kind of money Rutgers is willing to give...I still don't see Moorhead leaving MSU unless the fire him (which is always possible)…

Guys... he's not leaving MSU for Rutgers unless he's fired from MSU. Period.

I never thought Mississippi State was a good fit for Moorehead. A PA guy that also spent about 19 years in the Bronx will have a difficult time blending into the Deep South. His desire to be a head coach clouded his judgement when it came to analyzing the whole picture. Rutgers has untapped potential and Joe Moorehead may be the guy that can bring the Scarlet Knights to the next level.
Rutgers has very limited potential! It's stuck in a division with #1, #2, and #8 winningest programs in D-1 football.

They've been saying Rutgers has untapped potential for 50 years...

Untapped potential can get a coach fired 😏
My guess is it's Schiano's job if he wants it, and if not they may go after Butch Jones.

I agree Roam, I thought about Schiano as well .. baggage and all. He might be able to pull it off the second time around (winning at Rutgers) but won't be easy.
I don't see it, he starts from scratch and has to put in 3-4 years before getting an opportunity for a 'major'? Besides being in the SEC he is already a Top 20 program.
Schiano had Rutgers going in the right direction? They need a Fitzgerald that is committed long term, if there is such a thing anymore.
Unless Moorehead loves Piscataway due to family reasons or some psychological illness it makes no sense.
Here's something about a delusional fanbase... MSU fans are saying Moorhear is ruining "what Mullen built" LMAO, MSU will probably win 8 games this year and that's about what Mullen did EVERY YEAR.
Mullen was at MSU for 9 years, and only once did he crack .500 within the conference. Every other year he was 4-4 or worse. He won 10 games once in 2014, and from that point was 9-4, 6-7, & 8-4.
Moorhead won 8 games last year installing a new system, and has won 3 games up to this point and will most likely get to 8 again. This is exactly who Mississippi State was under Mullen, but fans look at him as if they were a top 10 team when he was there. LMAO
Fans are usually delusional. Being delusional is why it’s fun.

No, being delusional is when normal fandom turns into people killing trees because their team lost, like what happened with that Alabama fan.
There's being a fan and hoping your team does well, and then there's being delusional and actively railing against your current coach in less than 2 years.
Tennessee hasn't had a good coach there in years because their fan base is crazy, you may think it's fun but it actually starts to hurt programs
