- Michigan
- Washington
- Texas
- Alabama
Tough decision, but it's obvious that the comittee took into account FSU's QB situation. That pretty much did it, obviously not the same team offensively. Alabama had a top 5 SoS, while FSU's was 55.
It sucks to be honest, as a Bama fan I feel horrible for FSU. I think they got screwed. I dont care if they lost their starting QB, their defense looked spectacular last night. Should have given them a chance.
Good honest take Roam. Those kids got screwed. They faced adversity with multiple games left and still persevered. Meanwhile the committee tells them they’re a playoff team with one week to go and then flops on them after winning their conference championship and going undefeated. Funny how those who support want to blur all the lines together to justify it.
you still don’t have the best 4 teams in CFB in playoff with Georgia out
Yeah, I think it shows a bias towards offensive teams too. Over the past 10-15 years winning with defense has become a liability.
Unless you have some flash on offense, pollsters dont care about it.
@psufan1997 if Georgia isn’t in the top 4 you definitely don’t have the 4 best teams and I can’t stand Georgia and I’m glad they got left out. It’s just good old fashion hate lol somebody please tell Kirby to stop whining lol
Georgia lost, deal with it. Their best win is over Missouri, and even you think Missouri is soft.@psufan1997 if Georgia isn’t in the top 4 you definitely don’t have the 4 best teams and I can’t stand Georgia and I’m glad they got left out. If they wanted the benefit of the doubt this year, maybe Georgia should have scheduled someone out of conference with a pulse instead of UAB, Ball State, and an FCS team.
Georgia was scheduled to play Oklahoma this year but took em off the schedule. Whoops.
Michigan will find a way to play the victim card.
The bias is probably because the average winning score in the CFP championship game is almost 42 points. Like most sports, fans want offense.
Everyone rips on Michigan and Ohio State when they get to the playoffs - I understand why, they pretty much always lose when facing a SEC team. Penn State on the other hand has a much better bowl record but obviously can't get past "The Evil Two". But one needs to look at how the conferences are different, a team designed to beat an Alabama or a Georgia, may not be able to win the Big10 - they just play a different type of football.
It is time for a major conference realignment so an undefeated conference champ can no longer be excluded from the playoffs. I hate to compare the NFL, but a real winner is determined there, as is D2 and D3 football. Time when a committee can influence such matters needs to be as extinct as a winning program at sPitt! lol
12 team playoff next year, no need for any realignment. This can't happen anymore.Everyone rips on Michigan and Ohio State when they get to the playoffs - I understand why, they pretty much always lose when facing a SEC team. @roaminglion Florida St didn’t lose so I can use that as well. all i said was georgia is a top 4 team.
Fact of the matter is that any time style points are factored in to the outcome, it's a subjective outcome and money is the usually the deciding factor. It's not about the front door, it's about the back door.
NO....This wasn't a tough decision at all...ON THE FIELD...Which is how this stuff "SHOULD" be decided it is crystal clear...Michigan, Washington, FSU and Texas should be the 4 teams in...Quite simple...The money people couldn't have that...They want their sacred cow in and they got them in...period...So there ya have it folks...The games do not matter at all...Some corrupt committee decides who plays...As I said in other posts on this forum I am done with this farce...They have been exposed for the frauds they are...Enjoy your beauty contest because there is no honest competition here as they proved that last year with the officiating in the Ohio State/Georgia game...It's rigged for whoever they want...I like sports and this ain't sports...This is a choreographed farce parading around as honest sport...
I can’t wait to see all the crying in here about starters sitting when Georgia puts 65 on Penn State in the Peach Bowl.
@the-funeral-director I do agree with your 4 teams on how these scammers have been putting teams in..Florida St got screwed. They put in who they want….period!
The problem with your statement is it is built on a false premise. Texas and Alabama was settled on the field. FSU played a very different schedule than those two teams.NO....This wasn't a tough decision at all...ON THE FIELD...Which is how this stuff "SHOULD" be decided it is crystal clear...Michigan, Washington, FSU and Texas should be the 4 teams in...Quite simple...The money people couldn't have that...They want their sacred cow in and they got them in...period...So there ya have it folks...The games do not matter at all...Some corrupt committee decides who plays...As I said in other posts on this forum I am done with this farce...They have been exposed for the frauds they are...Enjoy your beauty contest because there is no honest competition here as they proved that last year with the officiating in the Ohio State/Georgia game...It's rigged for whoever they want...I like sports and this ain't sports...This is a choreographed farce parading around as honest sport...
The only thing "settled on the field" between Alabama, Texas, and FSU was Texas beat Alabama. That is it. Florida State didnt playbeither of them... nothing was settled on the field between those teams.
By that logic Liberty when 13-0 so it should be Michigan, Washington, FSU, and Liberty. However, you yourself claimed Texas as #4.
I don't care about schedules...FSU is a power 5 conference team who played their schedule and won every game...The beat Florida on the road by 9 points and Georgia beat em in Jacksonville by 22...You have 3 power 5 conference teams that are undefeated and should be in automatically...Texas beat Bama so Texas is in...The games have to matter...Enough of the eye test horseshit...I am done with this farce...You are trying to defend something that is indefensible...It's a farce...They lost a game...The other 3 teams haven't...and won their conference championship...Sorry but those are the facts...
By your logic screw all the other conferences...Just put in Bama, Georgia, Texas and Oklahoma or whatever other team you figure you want to throw in there...This is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP...You put in 3 undefeated conference champs and Texas on the tie breaker...The SEC had their championship game...Unfortunately your champ lost to Texas head to head so they get the tie breaker...You don't screw an undefeated team who won their conference because you don't like how this shook out...It's unfortunate but this is the way it should be if it was an honest setup...but this isn't an honest setup...So why bother with the charade...Why play a season or any games...Pick your 4 teams put lipstick on the pigs and call it a national championship tournament...That is exactly what you got here...
Yeah no, that's not "my logic" at all. I already said Michigan, Washington, Texas, and FSU should be in. I just dont think people are corrupt because they dont think like me.By your logic screw all the other conferences...Just put in Bama, Georgia, Texas and Oklahoma or whatever other team you figure you want to throw in there...This is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP...You put in 3 undefeated conference champs and Texas on the tie breaker...The SEC had their championship game...Unfortunately your champ lost to Texas head to head so they get the tie breaker...You don't screw an undefeated team who won their conference because you don't like how this shook out...It's unfortunate but this is the way it should be if it was an honest setup...but this isn't an honest setup...So why bother with the charade...Why play a season or any games...Pick your 4 teams put lipstick on the pigs and call it a national championship tournament...That is exactly what you got here...
I also dont get pissed off when someone decides to assume some conferences are better than others. If you fo that for one, then do it for all. "Power 5" is just a term, you can absolutly say one conference is better than another. I personally dont think the ACC is a very good conference... but I still would have chosen FSU. Other didnt agree... I'm not saying they are bad people because of it
@roaminglion It will be an improvement, but the same metrics that decided these 4 teams will be the same that decide those 12. I haven't read much about it yet, but there needs to be automatic berths ... all conference champs should get automatic berths, you go undefeated as a P5 team, automatic berth, I just don't like having a committee decide anything.
@roaminglion That is good to know ... but I can still see a scenario like this .. Penn State finished what, at #10, but the committee could say we don't like Penn State for some reason and rank em at #13 and boom, no playoffs for them. Just don't want that type of shit to happen. I've said they need to realign and create 12 conferences of 10 teams - only conference champs make the playoffs. No committees needed. I know there are currently more that 120 D1 teams, but some truly need to pushed back to D2. Whatever size or number of conferences is debatable - having only the winners of each make playoffs should not be.
Well sure, that's what you get with polls. The other way would be putting Group of 5 champs in and leaving out teams like Georgia and PSU for SMU and Liberty.@roaminglion That is good to know ... but I can still see a scenario like this .. No one wants that
I really don’t understand why you’re betching about it, the committee only did what you come in here and do every day.@the-funeral-director I do agree with your 4 teams on how these scammers have been putting teams in..Florida St got screwed. They put in who they want….period!
You come in here all the time and try to discredit teams that you think don’t deserve credit for what they accomplish and I’ve read hundreds of posts of yours stating “team A would destroy team B” but you have no way of proving what you claim.
@psujoe I’m glad Alabama is in but I still believe Florida St should’ve got in over Alabama going on how they’ve taken teams in the past. I don’t have a dog in this fight so I’m not bitching just trying to be honest. I give you the true top 5 that’s the teams I would have put in.
