@roaminglion I can fit my average sized ass in an airplane seat, it's a luxury compared to the stadium seats...and it's cushioned! But wait! At no additional cost, the airline seat give you 1/2 an armrest! Just pay a separate baggage fee.

I hope the government steps in soon and mandates the Airlines to have a minimum seating space. They keep lowering it and it's getting ridiculous.

The Gov did step in and regulate commercial aircraft seating. In Oct 2018 the Pres signed the SEAT Act “Seat Egress in Air Travel (SEAT) Act,” As you can see by the name it is NOT based of comfort but based off of egress safety.

Yup, and they conducted uses "tests" to say the seating is safe. The test were beyond ridiculous: 60 passengers, no one overweight, no luggage, no baggage, most under 30, and the faster you got out the more money you earned.

The Government didn't step in, what was passed was a legislation they knew could be easily side-stepped by a Government agency: The FAA.

I never said the testing or method in which the law was enacted was right, appropriate or legit. Working in the Aviation industry specifically within the Government, I am well aware of the charades that go on in regulation.

All I stated was a law was enacted regulating seat size which was factually accurate.

I didn't say it wasn't accurate, I added context to the notion that Government stepped in. My point was they didn't... one part of Government only passed a feckless bill that another part of Government could easily circumvent. 😂

It's too bad.
