Anybody personally know John Urschel? Maybe he can help out here!! LOL How many fans can we fit in Beaver Stadium if we all sit 6 feet apart?
- chain gang should be good at 30' apart
- refs should be good. I think there are 7, probably get that down to 4
- no need for stadium gate people or parking lot people. Must have a ticket in hand and be in your assigned seat. Cars must park 6 feet apart and you must have a ticket for each person in your car to park in the lots.
- Restrooms should be good too. With the limited anount of fans, I think we can keep people 6' apart inside and while standing in line.
- no need for a scoreboard crew, announcers, just a limited amount of security to keep people off the field and for safety of the fans, no food service - free hot dog and drink as you enter the stadium and a limited television crew so the game can be aired.
If every season ticket holder could go to just one game this season, I would be good with donating the rest of my ticket money to those who lose their stadium job this season....or donating the money to a good cause that would help those affected by this virus.
Hope you all are doing good!

I'd say easiest estimation would be:
1. Two empty seats between each person in a row giving you 6 feet
2. Eliminate every other row and stagger the seating from the rows behind and in front.
That should give each person 6 feet in all directions. So then it's 107,000(0.33*0.5) = 17,655 fans. Roughly of course.
Sound legit?
I dunno know Roam, if the seat are 24" wide, (pretty sure they aren't), you'd need 3 seats between spectators to get your 6' separation in the row.
Mathematical calculations indicate that one of the above posts was not from a smart person therefore a violation has occurred b
Happy resurrection day my friends hopefully the LORD will step in and get this virus out of here forever and we’ll have 107,000 in the stands. Y’all have a blessed day!
Happy Easter to you too Southern and also to all fellow NITS. Trust in the Lord and all will turn out for the best.
That made me laugh!! I was the by far the dumbest for even posting that!! Lol
Happy Easter to all and the best to those who celebrate a different way!

I went off them being 36" wide, but I guess that's too much. I used 36" for each seat when we were redoing our kitchen. Should haver realized that was too much for a stadium! 😂 So 107,000(.25*.5)=13,375 fans
Don't mind Sky, I don't. He's just obsessed with trying to insult me whenever he can. It's sad really, a week or two ago he actually went back to a 3-4 month old post just to get an insult in. Obviously having withdraw
the stadium now towers 110 rows on the east side, 100 rows on the west, 60 in the lower end zones, 35 in the north upper deck, 20 in the club seating level and 25 in the south upper deck. I believe the actual number of assigned seats is 106,752.
Take it away Roam! Need to see how may seats are in each row of each section. Figure each seat is 18" wide and 12" in depth. Allow 14" of leg room between each row...except row 1 which is about 20". This is my row, it has extra leg room vs all other rows. I think this where they started when they did the expansion. I am thinking each row is 26" from back of the seat in front of you to the back of your seat. Therefore, only 1/3 of the rows can be used. Get the number of seats in each row and we are golden!!
Oh...the rich people with boxes are out!! Just fans who sit in the elements can come!

My lord that is some tight seating!

haha In my mind, I was trying to give you 6' between noses, that would sort of work if the seats were 24". One site (thecomeback.com/crystalballrun/2011-articles/stadium-guide-beaver-stadium-penn-state.html ) lists the bench seating at 13". I know when I get down for a game, it is a pretty tight squeeze, particularly when you have all your "going to be sitting there for 4 hours and it's going to be cold" clothes on.
If I recall correctly, my seat (Sec NF, Row 39, Seat 26) was wide enough to sit cheek to cheek with the person on my right and the person on my left, and that was in shorts and tshirt weather. With foul weather gear, I had enough room to get one cheek on my seat! I gave up my season tickets the year after they fired Joepa.
And I though Airplane seating was tight!
@roaminglion I can fit my average sized ass in an airplane seat, it's a luxury compared to the stadium seats...and it's cushioned! But wait! At no additional cost, the airline seat give you 1/2 an armrest! Just pay a separate baggage fee.

I hope the government steps in soon and mandates the Airlines to have a minimum seating space. They keep lowering it and it's getting ridiculous.
Just once, can I have some cutie pie sit next to me on a plane or at a football game!! I get everything butt!! LOL
haha I'd be happy just not having to sit between two guys that are big enough, they could be retired NFL linemen.
Speaking of NFL, with the draft going virtual, does that mean when a team picks a player, they have to hit the "add to cart" button?

Can you set up a list so it automatically takes the next highest ranked player... like in fantasy football? LMAO
The seats ain’t all that bad to me when we fly.I’m always pretty comfortable when we fly to the Caribbean somewhere usually Cancun, Mexico. Maybe I’m just looking forward to a corona beer when I get there and I don’t think about the seating lol

Those are international flights, the seats are bigger on them.
lol, I didn’t know because I always fly international going to the Caribbean. We usually do 2 trips somewhere in the Caribbean every year and it’s always nice IMO. I did fly to Miami and Philadelphia but I honestly don’t remember if the seats were smaller. Looking like I’ll be sitting home this year unless this virus gets out of here. Trump needs to get this thing open because people are getting restless and starting to protest and if this gets out of hand it can get dangerous.
I believe he’s doing the right thing listening to dr Fouci
You stay home this year, wash your hands frequently and wear a mask! We will need you here in the fall! I have a good feeling there is going to be football someway, somehow. I think we are turning the corner and things will get better sooner than later. Still keep those affected in your thoughts, I would assume by now we all know somebody that has been impacted one way or another. Maybe the next chapter in our lives will be better and hopefully we all learned something valuable from this.
You be safe Southern!
