At the battle of Hastings on 14 October 1066, "William The Bastard" became "William the Conquer". And so it is that today, Coach Franklin has morphed from "Big Game James" to "Big Win James".........or maybe a couple more wins are needed.
By the way, if you want to visit Normandy and see the Tapestry which tells the story of William the Bastard and the Battle of Hastings, the website is: The Bayeux Tapestry's main characters, William, Edward, Harold and Odo
He's still Big Game Jimmy as far as I'm concerned. The D's 2 pick 6's kinda took the game out of his hands, although his decision to go on 4th down in our territory and turn it over to SMU almost got him back in the game. Only once again, our D bailed him out! If we beat Boise, I'll move him up to Big Game James. He needs to win it all to earn the title of Big Win James in my book!
SMU fans are some serious jackwads and would be a good fit in the SEC. I’m thinking about starting a riot just for the hell of it.
Going for it on 4th and 1 from his own 20 was one of the dumbest decisions “Big Game James” has made yet. Luckily we were only playing a garbage ACC team but his stupid decisions are going to earn us an L sometime soon.
Didn't feel very dominant some how. The last drive was nice. Defense was good. Offense? Didn't much need it. I suppose we make that 4th an 1 9 of 10 but it felt wrong. Going for it in that position communicates things. It says to the team If I trusted you I wouldn't need to take this risk. Maybe it says I trust my O-line to get it. And the D bailed him out with another INT. At home, SMU, up 14 it just doesn't feel like a good risk...except our Offense was inept...and proved it again.
It’s big game James Franklin baby!
He's the head coach not the offensive coordinator, so the D didn't bail him out. He's responsible for it all.
NFL teams struggle in 20 degrees weather. IMO DA had a few big runs today that helped score TD’s. It’s hard to pass in that weather the SMU QB threw for 3k yards this year and he couldn’t do anything.
I am interested to see what the OSU and Tennessee QBs do tonight in similar conditions. Though I don't think it will be as windy as it was in State CollegeNFL teams struggle in 20 degrees weather. I don't see how you can find fault with today...They dominated...I woulda liked to have seen more from the offense but they dominated this football game...On to Phoenix to face Boise...A game they should win but keep in mind...they played Oregon tough...This is a game the boys should win...I expect Ohio State to truck Tennessee tonight...I figure OSU to beat em by a couple of touchdowns...
