Cael has shown the world that winning the National Championship is much more important and fulfilling.  It has been said that Paterno wasn't really interested in a Big 10 Championship.  His focus was on the national level.

I think the boys were resilient and put on a really good show last night.  If they can keep the intensity and get a little help with the seeding, they might be able to make a run.  With regard to Oregon, I think they shot their wad last night and will never match their performance.

Hope you are right but Cael is dominant and it is an individual sport where he prepares individual to peak at the right time.  He is also a wrestling whisperer....he has some psychology that works on wrestlers performing at peak.  JF doesn't have that yet and maybe it is tougher with a team.

But I am happy with the team, they underperformed the 1st qtr but played catchup well and statistically we were even or beat them except for 2 INT's.  We lost the breaks, calls and TO's.  O knows they were in a dogfight and are glad to get out of there alive.

No big ten runner up has won the national championship in 10 years. In the history of the NFL, only 7 wildcard teams have won the Super Bowl. Winning your division or conference is a pretty healthy indicator of potential future success. Oregon won that game because of recruiting and NIL, Tez and Dillon Gabriel are transfers. They have the pocketbook to make aggressive moves like it or not. Gabriel’s ability to not be sacked and get the ball out quick was the entire game. Penn State should absolutely do the same. The Dante Cephas and Julian Flemings of the world aren’t going to cut it and that’s apparent.

@underlion About those 2 interceptions and the one in the end zone against Ohio State, I looked in the 2024 Rules Book and I think defensive pass interference should have been called.

Alabama has won the National Title twice without even making the SEC title game in 2011 and 2017

I agree with you though... the two teams we lost to this year were very much bought and paid for.
