I agree with the LION's demise. I just thought that with the wealth of running backs who are supposedly also able to catch the ball, a legitimate two running back set might be worth a try. Also, might be a good short yardage set with the QB under center using a fake to the lead runner who serves as blocker to open a hole for the following RB. Almost like the old fullback concept, 😍 😍 😍
I would like to see some of that as well. Ads another layer of deception and something else for the defense to think about. But only if you mix it up or it will just be predictable. I feel like sometimes I can predict what the offense is going to run based on motion and alignment and I'm an idiot.
I would LOVE to see some under center formations for short yardage too but I have a feeling I can keep dreaming on that one too.
I agree Cave, you would need to mix it up and use it sparingly. I enjoy dreaming about these things. That's the nice thing about this time of year, as an armchair coach you can do that & anything is possible!

Nothing sensitive here Titan...as a former athlete I can tell you there would be a backlash for posting incorrect workout numbers or stats no matter what they are... Your teammates would ride you and break your balls and everybody else will ridicule you unmercifully ...there are unwritten rules and taboos in sports and lying about your workout numbers or stats is one of them...you don't say your throwing 95 mph when your throwing 88mph...this has nothing to do with being sensitive Titan but it has to do with my experiences in athletics as both a player and coach...

I have been reading Bill's posts for quite a few years between the old Penn Live forum and now on this terrific forum...The times his reporting has been wrong or incorrect information has been given are very few indeed .. If Bill reports something I believe it because his excellent track record warrants it... I don't have a lot of time to research Penn State athletic news and this site is my only information source and I am grateful to the folks who frequent this site and post information...sometimes the info appears here before it hits a news feed... I don't always agree with the ideas or opinions posted here but I am grateful for the honest and lively debates and exchanging of thoughts and ideas... That's what makes this forum so great ..

Just to add... sometimes when people say reporters were "wrong", they technically weren't. Reporters to a large degree report on what they are told, and tell you what was said. Sometimes people lie to them (who knew people lied?) and the reporter more or less gets "duped" by a false narrative. Doesn't really mean they were wrong, just that they were mislead and sometimes they just don't realize or catch it.
