Spring game for Penn State football and Talladega baby. Got to get to my sons house so we can eat and watch the game. Can’t wait to see the young QB’s get it on today.

The hype is really starting to ramp up and it’s starting to worry me because the last time a PSU team was this hyped they fell flat on their butts. Week #3 at Illinois is a game that could derail the entire season.
I don't have the BTN. My provider dumped it because they couldn't strike the deal. I listened to it on AM radio. Lots of static. It was real hard to hear. I did hear Jack Ham say the Pocket is starting to collapse.
Southern, I fired up the grille today. Did a few steaks and potatoes.

I was not impressed with the QB performance at all. I know it’s just the BW scrimmage game but when Allar missed an easy wide open Allen for the TD it reminded me of Hackenberg nightmares all over again.
We had a house full at my sons house yesterday so I wasn’t able to watch the whole game I watched at it I guess but I’ll hopefully get to sit down at home and watch the game closely. I did see a few bad passes but I’m quite sure the defense would be much better than the offense in the spring. I did see on Pennlive that we picked up a stud recruit for the OL, the #8 player in Pa more great news for Penn State football. I believe we’ll be ok at QB just gotta let the kids get their feet wet getting snaps. The schedule imo is favorable but with a couple of tough teams to start the season but that will give the team time to jell before heading to Columbus. I don’t know what Iowa and Illinois is bringing back this year and we better give WV a beat down baby.
I'm not sure about our QB performance yesterday as well. And what about the Oline? Maybe the Defense is just that good under Diaz and they will keep Penn State in EVERY game this season. Can't read too much into the Spring game, but I thought we would see a little more glimpses of hope on the offensive side of the ball....specifically from the QB's. Lot's of time until Kickoff, I think they will get it figured out. Defense should be spectacular IMO.

I believe when your in a controlled scrimmage (which the BW Game basically is), the coach can pretty much orchestrate what he wants to happen. Yes, our D is very, very good and I think Franklin had Diaz turn up the heat in order to give our young QB's a taste of what's to come once the season starts. That had a lot to do with their underwhelming performance. In the long run, it should make them better prepared and less likely to believe all the hype that's been coming their way.
Missed the game, but from what I've read:
1. People think the defense is going to be really, really, good. Like, better than it has been and possibly elite status.
2. OL looked shaky, but starters were out and jumbled lineups anyway
3. Both QBs were shaky, but also showed flashes of what their ceilings are. Not there yet, but they are two exciting players at the position
4. Cephas can't get here fast enough. The WR position needs impact players, and a lot of chatter about Franklin delving into the portal when it reopens because they lack star power there
I believe the QB’s and O’line looked shaky because we are stacked at the defensive end position and those guys were wreaking havoc all day. Dennis-Sutton was unblockable.
QB's were unimpressive because the offensive line was unimpressive and the DB's were impressive. The D was definately ahead of the offense. Really bad if you consider the 1st team offense was going against the second team defense?? Then the one TD pass Allar threw was to a wide open receiver because the DB fell? At least it was his third option. He threw a nice sidearm pass under pressure.

2 new QB’s going against our stacked defense are probably expected to struggle. I believe we’ll be ok when the season gets here. We’ve all seen Allar make some good throws in real games and he will keep gettin better. It’s not easy for any QB going up against our defense just ask Utah lol
It took a week before the first game of 2016 for Trace McSorely to beat of Tommy Stevens for the job. Things turned out fine.

pfff Last week was dry and pushing 90, setting record temps. This week has been off and on rain and snow showers. 35 deg and wind is miserable this morning, throw in the snow and rain, makes it a good day to stay in and get more seeds started. Allegedly upper 80s by the end of the week again.
Garden dried out enough in a few areas that I could get the tractor in w/o burying it up to the frame. Planted peas, carrots, beets, onions, fava beans, daikon radishes and parsley root. Looks like 50% of my artichokes made it through the winter and are coming up. 1st year I didn't mulch them and they did better w/o all the extra PITA work. Of course I was planning for the worst and now have to find room for all the new 'choke plants I have in the greenhouse, go figure.
