After all the talk on here about poll bias and such, we MOVED UP two spots to #4 🤣
I'd say now is as good as any for listing polls, the preseason and first three weeks are general garbage fodder but there were some interesting fallouts last week. Let the chips fall as they may throughout the rest of the season; see ya in Miami on Dec 31, 2021.
I rank the teams after all the games are played.Â
I'm still not a believer PSU even belongs in the top 10 but we'll start to get an idea of where they belong in the next 2 weeks then after the bye the schedule gets brutal. Polls don't mean squat at this point.

I wish I didn’t have to agree with you psujoe but from what I’m seeing right now I have to. If we had a rushing attack to compliment what I’d say is a pretty efficient passing offense, I would be more confident in calling PSU a top 10 team. For whatever the problem is, this needs to get fixed in a hurry going forward or we’re going to take some lumps. I’m also a bit concerned about the run defense. If these two areas improve even just a a little then I would say we’re a top 10 team. Hell if the rushing could improve a great deal I’d say this offense could be a dare I say juggernaut and a top 3 team. Overall, the defense has been playing pretty darn good too(aside from getting gashed by the run too many times for my liking).

I tend to think you are spot on about this but I hope we are wrong.
@psujoe remoh, are you feeling ok? Who’s brutal besides Ohio st after the bye week? Lol
Yea what was he thinking, obviously Meatchicken, MSU, MD and loseRU weren't any good last year so that means they can't be any good in 2021.

@psujoe  And there’s a good chance these teams  won’t be good at the end of this year. Illinois, Rutgers, Michigan State, Maryland and Michigan don’t scare anybody. We should beat 4 of these teams by 10 points or more and just beat Michigan which I think we will at home. Come on guys these teams don’t scare anybody. I give y’all Ohio St because they do have top notch talent.

@southern-psu-fan lol They better beat Mich! I don't want to waste my time driving down home to watch PSU lose to Hairball et al.

Alabama kicks the sheet out of Miami and they're the greatest team ever. MSU kicks the sheet out of Miami and it means nothing. Typical confederate way of thinking..
P.S. obviously you still haven't gotten over the ass beating you guys took in 1865.

Let me help you out with something. PENN STATE IS A TOP 10 TEAM! The Tide and the Dawgs are my 1&2 ( as of today ) and after that, I have to go with Penn State. Yes, I think we all agree they need a running game, but the defense is playing like a TOP 10 team and the offense has TOO many weapons - one in particular, and now a possible second one, that can burn any of the next 22 teams behind them!Â
Â
AND, if they don't find their running game, I still believe they will win out. We will just have to sit and watch four more games like the Wisconsin and Auburn game and that is NOT how I wanted to spend my Saturdays!
Â
GO STATE!

I gotta agree with you Homer...I have been saying this for weeks now...Clemson is an average team and Miami isn't even average...Clemson is Georgia's signature win so far and you would have thought they beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the Super Bowl...NC State beats em and that does nothing to wondering how good is Georgia? Alabama beats Miami and that is a big win but Michigan State beats em to show how average they are and crickets...The hypocrisy is overwhelming...I heard them ask a question of how many losses would Penn State have if they were in the SEC West...I laughed my ass off at those fools...The real question to ask is how many losses would Georgia or Bama have if they played in the B1G eastern division...Lets visit some of the highlights here shall we...Mississippi State loses to Memphis State in spite of the SEC officials doing what the SEC officials do...LSU goes out to LA and gets thumped by UCLA...Yes the same UCLA team that got beat by Fresno State...Auburn came up to State College packing their refs and got beat...What is the SEC conference's signature wins out of conference this year? Georgia beat a now 2 loss Clemson team by a touchdown and Bama roughed up a Miami team that got beat up by Michigan State...I mean these teams play with themselves every year and beat up on Mercer, directional Louisianna teams, the citadel, mercer, samford etc...It seems like the New Mexico teams are popular as well this year...I have watched a ton of college football so far this season and I see no reason to believe that Penn State or the B1G representative isn't as good or better than any of these other teams...The SEC teams certainly don't have to play the schedule that any of these B1G eastern division teams are playing or the B1G in general...The games matter and the SEC isn't playing many tough out of conference games and the handful that they have played they have lost their fair share of em...
Remoh doesn’t think we’re a top 10 team, yet anyway? The true top 5 has Penn St 3Rd
Frankly right now...Penn State should be ranked #1 based on strength of schedule...These rankings mean NOTHING...Keep on winning and everything will sort itself out...To anoint Bama and Georgia as the overwhelming #1 and #2 to me is ridiculous as they haven't beaten anybody...I would put Oregon ahead of em too...There is a loooooooooooooong loooooooooooooooooooooong way to go...It's going to be an interesting season...
@southern-psu-fan You keep bragging about PSU's SOS but you have them behind a Georgia team who has zero quality wins?  Yes I know Clemson was blah blah blah 2 years ago which means everything to your meaningless poll but Clemson lost to an unranked mediocre NC State by one point less than they lost to GA.

After that rant about bias, I just have to ask what is it about our schedule is so amazing? Beating a Wisconsin team that lost by 28 to ND? Beating 1-3 Ball State? Beating Villanova 38-17? Or beating a completely overrated SEC team (by you own account) at home?
@psujoe  all we can go by right now is how teams are playing against competition and how teams have been recruiting and who the head coach is. I think it’s fair to say  until somebody knocks off alabama they should be #1. Ain’t Nick Saban earned the benefit of the doubt until somebody beats ‘em? I think so
The Wisky/Notre Dame was a much closer game than the score indicated...I also want to point out the fact that Penn State beat em in Camp Randall on opening night...Wisky is a much different team in that building than in Soldier Field where there was a lot more Irish fans than if they were in Camp Randall...The timing and environment of a ballgame do matter...I also don't believe the Auburn game wasn't nearly as close as the scoreboard indicated...Those SEC refs were good for 10 to 14 points...These polls really can't be taken seriously and are really for entertainment purposes only at this point in the season...There is a lot of football left to be played and it's all about winning ballgames...If they win their ballgames the polls will take care of themselves...
