The team just added another talented prospect to their 2023 wide receiver room in Florida State 4 star transfer Malik McClain. Coach Franklin is putting together an outstanding team for next year. Can we now get Bobby Engram to join the join the team as the WR coach, that would be the icing on the cake.
It's not official till my phone buzzes with a notification !! At 6'4" he would be a great get but don't be surprised if he ends up at South Carolina.
55-10
Also a project, hopefully he can get better but I wouldn't call a guy with 396 yards receiving in 2 years a big time WR.
If you go to that website it was reported by Mike Vukovcan and was posted 5 hours ago. Apparently he and his website don't know what they are doing or posting. My fault for not waiting for more a more established or credible source before posting .. my bad.
lol except you used two different login names, again. Maybe you should "Go to bed".
@been-there-ii I was thinking it could be the snake and wnylion is one of our old buddies from pennlive if I remember correctly. sometimes our names pop up like BK is rIP. I don’t believe sue is the snake 😂
@southern-psu-fan Yep, I looked at it twice too. And yes, it was WNYLion, not WNYPSU. But he did get the PSUSusie correct. Next nic will be PSUKeepSwingin'.
Now it’s official!! Watch and phone both went off a couple minutes ago
Hopefully we can get a real good WR coach to work with him during the Spring, because with his size he could be very dangerous paired with Cephas. Haven't had a big bodied WR here in a couple years... which is one of the reasons I think Stubblefield was let go, just couldn't get the big boy WRs to commit.
Also surprising that Parker Washington left. Wasn't going to be a high draft pick anyway, and the fact he was injured late in the season doesn't help him either. So... Tinsley underperformed this year, Washington underperformed and left, only 1 WR in the 2023 recruiting class (another small WR), and no portal transfers until he was let go...
Something had to be going on
@roaminglion Curious, does he have to go pro now that he said it ....or can he come back assuming he hasn't signed up for anything that would void his amateur status? Kinda like the portal ... say you are leaving ... look around, but ultimately come back. Any chance of this?
Gotta gives James Franklin a lot of love because he’s killed it in the transfer portal we’ve got some dang good football players that’s had great impact. The transfer portal Has been good to us.
Yes it has, Southern, but it's been good to a lot of other teams too. Call me an old fart 'cause I still don't like it, lol.
@rip I like the transfer portal but tougher rules need to be put in place like you only get to use it one time without having to sit a year and you can only get in it after the season is over. I’m sure there’s other stuff that needs to change it can’t just jump ship all year long. Honestly I don’t know the rules bk 😂
IMO it went too far the other way. I like the idea of the portal, but not the way it's working right now. The windows are too weird, and it's too much for the coaches to deal with.
I think they should get rid of the early signing period, it's stupid. You're making coaches worry about signing classes when they are preparing for bowl games or going through a coaching change. I say move it back to February... maybe even a few weeks later in the month. Open the portal after the regular season, so you give them a chance to move to another school before spring semester. But then close it on signing day. No need to run it earlier or later than that.
Also, open it back up for July only, so players can transfer if they wish before the season. Once August rolls around practices are in full swing and they are locked in until the portal opens in December.
Lastly, make all of June a dead period. Full stop. No practice, no coaching, no contact. Nothing. No one is allowed to communicate, PERIOD. At least gives coaches a month off from being around kids.

Scouting report on McClain. Super talented/athletic, but like someone said earlier in the thread, he's a bit of a project. McClain's development will be the first real litmus test for the new WR coach from UVA.
