Is it time to let Drew Allar start & let him sink or swim?  As much as I hate to say it, maybe it's time to plan for the futue.

I don’t think so we can still get to 10 or 11 wins. Ohio State is the only team left on the schedule that out man’s us. Put this game behind us and take out all the frustration on Minnesota Saturday in the whiteout.

YES !! We might lose one more game with Allar this season with Allar than we would with Clifford but the sacrifice would be well worth it for the long term health of the program.

I don't think so.  I really don't believe he's ready yet.  Cliff still gives us the best shot at winning.  He wasn't the reason for yesterday's massacre.  If Cliff is healthy stick with him & get Allar as much quality playing time as possible.  I don't want to write off the season at this point and IMO continuing to bring Allar along in a back up role is in his best interests as well as what is best for the future of the program.

He definitely wasn’t THE reason we lost but he was a huge part of it.

He was a huge part of why we were in the game at the half and beginning of the 3rd Qt.

Why not, just don't kill the kid for miserable O'line play or coaching. If he starts throwing off his back foot, just get a QB guru in immediately, because he is not gonna work that problem out on his own, and get him into Hot Yoga/Vinyasa on a daily basis to limber him up so that he can take a fall, get out of the way etc..; the kid is definitely a big strong dude but could benefit with increased flexibility/agility.

I just hope he's not another Morelli or Hackenberg.

The game of football consists of 4 quarters and for most of his time on the field he sucked. Allar can’t be any worse if he is the future as most people on this forum agree that he is.

I will say that I feel bad for Clifford...

I think he gets a lot of the blame for the past 2 seasons, even though it obviously the offensive line. That's said, he does tend to lose focus and then throw some mind numbingly terrible passes.

He can have a perfect pocket to step up into but instead will roll out and have his pass batted by the DE. I feel bad for the guy too but also feel bad for the guys that were never given a shot because of the blind loyalty to Sean

No good reason for CV to stay if he is a quality QB especially with upside. If you wanted to save DA so that he could learn from the sidelines, then pull Cliff and play CV. If DA is already ahead of CV, CV might as well hit the portal.

I don’t know who’s better CV or DA but CV did step in last year and helped get a win. It took until the Rutgers game for our coaches to see CV was better than Roberson which really bothers me. The more I watch Yurcich the less confidence I have in him. Our offense and QB’s are a mess and he’s the coach. I hope I’m wrong but I just ain’t seeing it in Yurcich.

Well, keep playing Cifford (he is a tough S.O.B.) & probably win a few more games & then go into next year with an inexperienced QB.  I don't think so Tim.  Just like dirty bathwater, you need to pull the plug!

It ain't MY., his record is consistently good until he got to PSU.

Fact of the matter, PSU is perfectly designed to achieve the current outcomes as well as those in the past; CEO/HC sets the vision and course, and all ye follow or get gone.

Cliff may not be that hurt...it was Allar time anyway.

IMO you strategically develop Allar.  He doesn't need fed to the wolves.

Allar needs to be brought along carefully.  I just don't think he's ready yet.  When he went in on Saturday I noticed that "deer in the headlights" look in his eyes several times when  Fox shot a closeup prior to the snap.  He has the potential (there's that word again, lol) to be a great one.  Hope we don't screw him up physically or mentally by rushing him before he's really ready.
