Big winner today is Cincinnati. Honestly I think the road is clear for them if they go undefeated. They would be in.
I don't think anyone from the ACC or Pac 12 is getting in over them with 1 loss, and the Big 12 is suspect this year with terrible OOC losses.
Especially if ND finishes with only 1 or 2 losses. They are gonna be #3 tomorrow

Penn State's road to the playoffs has been and still remains through Columbus! Tomorrows rankings will have NO bearing on Penn State's chance of making the playoffs. Two Big10 teams were never going to make it, so even if Penn State won, if they lose to Ohio State they were out no matter what....IMO.
Cinncy's road just got better. No way two SEC teams make it now that Bama lost to an unranked Team. If Penn State runs the table and beats Iowa in the championship, they will not put two SEC teams in if Bama beats GA and Iowa and Penn State only have one loss each.
Here is my thought on Clifford. If his injury is minor, they pulled him to prevent any additional injury to whatever his injury is. They know ( and I think we all know here ) Penn State will beat Iowa in the Big10 title game. Let Clifford heal during the bye week. Get a good lead against Illinois and pull him again. Penn State will give Ohio State all they can handle with a healthy Clifford. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE JF rolled the dice today and realized winning at Ohio State was more important than today and losing Clifford for the rest of the year.
I just wish we had a better back up. That was a mess and they did NOT do a very good job preparing for a day like today!! That, I blame the coaches for!!!
GO STATE!!!
@mtnittanylion They’ll never let Cincinnati in the playoffs. If Alabama beats Georgia in the championship game they’ll put both teams in before Cincinnati. Lot of football left to be played but I can see this happening. If Alabama beats Georgia and they’re the #1 team in the country and it’s a close game I believe they will still put both teams in over Cincinnati. They may not over Oregon but they will over Cincinnati.
I know what you're saying, but I sincerely hope that the nature of Clifford's injury prevented him from going back in the game. If the decision was made to keep him out, even though he would have been able to play, in order to save him for Ohio State, I really have a problem with that. After seeing Roberson in action, that decision was equivalent to throwing the game! Also, even if Cliff couldn't go due to injury, why not keep him in uniform on the sideline? Seeing him in street clothes had to fire Iowa up. IMO, seeing him dressed would have kept them guessing that he might be coming back in.
In a scenario where Cinn gets left out ...that potentially drives the support for expansion; u gotta wonder when lawsuits start getting filed and in the scheme of things it is more profitable to skip the lawsuits and just expand the playoff.

Yes they will

I thought they should have kept him in uniform for psychological reasons also. Maybe ride the bike every once in a while. But maybe Iowa knew anyway, we don't know who did and where the medical evaluation was done. I'd have rather seen him in uniform.
