Alabama and Clemson

This opinion article had some info that was interesting concerning Alabama's and Clemson's schedules.   Alabama's 8 opponents are 28-41 and Clemson's nine are 38-40.  Neither has played anyone yet.  Of course Alabama's strength of schedule will certainly bump up quite a bit in the coming weeks.  Anyhow, interesting read.

Exactly why I was wondering why we’re ranked in front of Clemson but not Alabama. The good thing is Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Penn State, Oklahoma, LSU and Georgia still controls their own destiny win the rest of your games and you’re in the playoffs. As of today I don’t believe Oregon does so we could be in that boat lol

Oregon may be in if they win out... The committee remembers is was week 1 and Oregon's best five WRs were injured and didn't even play.

That IMO is why they are ranked ahead of Oklahoma. If they win out and beat a 1 loss Utah in the championship they have a good shot at the CFP.
