Now I see why we couldn’t stop Indiana we’re slow on defense and can’t get off blocks and we don’t get after the ball. Clifford is becoming a turnover machine and the loss of Limegrover is showing up because we can’t run block. We gotta long ways to go but all these coaching changes are killing us. Limegrover is a self inflicted wound because he was fired. I never understand why he fired Limegrover. Regroup and get better is all we can do.
Southern, This team has no heart and Franklin looks like a deer in the headlights. Something isn’t right at PSU. Letting Limegrover go didn’t cause this dumpster fire. He was an average OL coach at best. The problem appears to be bigger than a new OL coach.
@lionbacker99. We definitely got to find some guys that want to play. #5 and #26 looks good. Clifford is starting to look like Hack. I would’ve yanked him out after half time. Everything ain’t Clifford fault because 87 and a few other don’t do him any favors when they don’t catch the ball. I still believe the loss of Brown and Limegrover hurts. 3 out of 4 years we won 11 games so it has to have some affect especially when you look at the team now because we had some studs coming back this year. I’m not seeing any play makers on defense except Porter the rest are either overrated or don’t want to play. Help me 99 it’s been a bad day brother lol
Clifford threw a few nice balls, but most weren't where they needed to be.
@southern-psu-fan don't forget every year we had a top flight receiver to go with a pro caliber tight end. That being said I don't believe Clifford is the one either
I don’t know where to start with this team. They are getting their butt kicked in all aspects of the game including coaching and game preparation. You can’t blame the receivers, especially 87, he is a first round pick and Clifford isn’t doing him any favors with high throws. Clifford is downright awful right now. 3 and 5 bail him out with spectacular catches routinely. Other than the game, it has been a wounderful day. The sky is bluer, the birds are singing louder, and people are smiling.

You can't yank the QB when his brother is the #1 recruit in next years class.

That is an interesting point.
That is a really interest point. Better hope he is a goodun'.
Man, I ain’t felt this bad since September 3, 2000. I’ve got the same gut feeling when I woke up this morning. I don’t care who his brother is sometimes it’s better for the players if they get yanked when they ain’t playing good and Clifford is playing like crap. He’s just not taking care of the ball and he’s not very accurate. He’s got to know and feel there’s competition that wants his spot as starting QB. I know the kid is trying and he hasn’t give up because he’s running hard and making plays with his feet but something ain’t right when he’s throwing the ball. We need to find out what the problem is and quick or we might not win a game.
You bring up a good point. Franklin does appear to be pigeon holed a bit with the QB situation like he was with Hack after convincing Hack to stay and playing him despite poor play. Liam Clifford is not the top recruit in next year’s recruiting class, but he is having a monster season at WR in a very competitive football conference in Ohio. He is a vital piece to next year’s recruiting class and it’s hard to believe he isn’t an overall 4 star prospect yet with how he has been playing. I would hope this isn’t the reason why Sean is still playing despite his poor showing, but it’s a slippery slope for Franklin.

As a player I never had a problem with coaches coming in a saying, "hey we are playing the guys that are ready and want it, if that's you then lay it out on the practice field or field of play or its next man up". What has to go with that though, is not faulting an inexperienced kid if he makes a mistake, coach him up and get his head back in the game, chit is gonna happen. I'd rather have 100% of ambition, desire and I can do it from an inexperienced kid than having an experience player not demonstrating the same. Next man up!
For those of you who like to focus on recruiting, this debacle will do wonders for our efforts in the DELMARVA area. Sad to say, I don't think we have the coaching staff to coach up 2 & 3 star recruits. Heck, they can't even keep the 4 stars from regressing!
Wish you could pass that thought on to the coaches and players.
@rip bob, I got a week of vacation left if we lose to Nebraska I’m driving up to Penn State and put my foot up James Franklin’s butt lol. I woke up this morning and felt the Toledo loss all over again lol
OL coach isn't the problem, he didn't just forget how to develop OL since leaving BC who had one of the better lines in the country.
@roaminglion I told you when James Franklin made this move it was a mistake and so far it looks like I’m right.the OL got better every year while Limegrover was here and now they look below average. I ain’t seeing it after 3 games it’s gettin worse.
Maryland’s defense stinks and we can’t score. Didn’t Maryland have 6 or 7 sacks? BC was a average team in a chit conference roam this OL in 2020 is in bad shape and from what I seen Saturday it ain’t going to end well. Our offense in 2014 and 2015 was better than what I watched Saturday. Why was Clifford in the game in the 4th?

No it doesn't. Lineman don't forget how to block because of a coaching change. In 2 years if the line looks bad you'll have a point, but to say an OL coach had an effect 3 games in is a bit much. Not to mention the fact that the 2 running backs from last year that were the most effective aren't playing.
