I sincerely hope I am VERY wrong but I see a poof coming at O$U. Defense will play pretty well as always thru history but the O will again fail likely in the 4th quarter. We are so close, but if only Mr. Allar had been able to play last year to be better seasoned I think things might go our way. PSU has demonstrated the inability to close it out repeatedly. I feel a lot of that is coaching. This game will mostly determine the B16 (20? ) and the playoffs or great bowl position. O$U has their 4th string running back ( read #1 almost anywhere else) but I will almost guarantee they will all be in next weeks game. I still feel 10-2 again. If we CAN dump O$U and have Mich at home then maybe ....finally. I don't think so.
I sincerely hope you are very wrong too. I think our D is progressing to the point that they will play lights out at the shoe. I believe Allar has been brought along nicely. Played enough last year to get his feet wet and has 6 games under his belt this year so should be fine. I'm not counting out OSU's injured RB's. I'd like to see us beat their best. My big concern is our slow starts on Offense, especially with an early KO. If we come home from the Shoe with a win, Meatchicken is in for a rude awakening on their trip to Happy Valley on Nov. 11th!
OSU doesn't have a good running game. It will be a defensive battle in the trenches. PSU run and pass should be enough to supersede by a few points.
To me, it looked like #15 threw a couple of well-placed balls against UMASS. Unfortunately, the UMASS deepers were grabby and the receivers didn't get free. I think that if Penn State gets a couple of mid to deep pass plays, the running game should open up. Over on the defensive side, it appears the departure of #9 resulted in a big improvement. If the Penn State Defense can feast early, then they could be gluttonous pigs and feast often. My guess is Penn State wins 35-10 ........ but I'm wrong every week.
Limit McCord's deep shot chances and we'll be fine. He seems to struggle if he needs to dink and dunk when the deep pass isn't available. Also, hopefully we can limit that run game like some other teams have done, without committing extra guys to the box.
On offense, if we can capitalize on a few deep shots we win going away. If not, it will be a slog of a game.

Penn State ranks #1 in the Nation in Total Defense. #2 in the Big10 in scoring defense and #1 in the Big 10 in Rush and Pass defense. And they rank #2 in the Nation for sacks......Ohio State has given up 10 sacks so far with 3 against Purdue last Saturday.
SO, your 10 points is a possibility! Now, the 35 points is my question. HOWEVER, Penn State is winning by an average of 36.2 points per game. So, your 35 points is not out of the question either!
Ohio State beat a NOW 2 loss #15 ND and Penn State SHUT OUT a 1 loss #24 IOWA. Ohio State probably has the better win here, but not by much. But after this, Penn State has the next best win over WVU. Maryland would be Ohio States best next win.
I don't know if 35-10 is realistic, but I wouldn't be shocked to see Penn State pull away late and win by 14 or more. I think Penn State will run the ball against Ohio State allowing Allar to pick apart their defense with short passes and probably ( finally ) see some down field long strikes!
