Two ACC teams in the playoff and both get embarrassed in games that were non competitive and over by halftime. Obviously ESPiN was wrong again.
Exactly why we need an 8 team playoff.
Though I will say OSU looks like a much fresher team, amazing how that happens when you play half the games and get 4-5 bye weeks.
Clemson needed that TD to get back in this game. Need to get a stop now
Game isn't over yet, Clemson certainly has the horses on offense to come back
I agree with the 8 team playoff format and sure hope we see it in the near future. But for now, we have to endure a 4 team playoff and as much as I hate to say it, I think they got it right. I'm quite surprised with the Clemson/OSU score; I figured it would be reversed. I agree with Roam, it certainly seems like OSU is fresher and more rested than Clemson. One could argue that A&M deserves to get in and they'd have a valid point. In my opinion, Cinn and Coastal Carolina didnt belong in the four team playoff format. Both teams would have been embarassed today.
Why is A&M more deserving than Indiana or Cincinnati? What's the SEC's bowl record? Cincy beats Georgia if they don't disqualify their all conference left tackle on a phantom targeting penalty... It's a joke...
@the-funeral-director. FD my brother if you put Indiana, CC or Cincinnati in these 2 games today they would get demolished. ND and Clemson got killed today. A&M has better players and better coaching. Georgia is the 4th best team in the SEC this year and Cincinnati couldn’t get it done. Indiana, CC and Cincinnati have really good football teams but they don’t belong on the big stage with the big dawgs. It’s nitty gritty time in the playoffs baby

FD...
1. It was an obvious penalty and a good call.
2. If, if, if, if....

Southern... Texas A&M was hammered by Alabama too.

@roaminglion. I didn’t say they can beat Alabama I just think they are a top 5 team.

@sky Hasn't been about education, for many schools, for years, "...we ain't come here to play school, classes are pointless."
Yes. When players start being paid legally, not sure fans will be interested. The product that has filled stadiums with millions and had millions more dialing in on television, was students playing football. I am not interested in watching semipro anything.
We will have to agree to disagree Roam... It was a horseshit call... The bottom line in my opinion is that Cincy was the better team and proved without a doubt that they can compete with any team in the country... Period... Stop...
@the-funeral-director. I love the Cincinnati QB and they have some good football players and you’re making my point about big dawg football FD because when you play in the SEC or Big 10 you have guys go down or maybe kicked out of the game and the lightweights can’t plug one back in plus when they get tired which football player do their 2nd team can’t get the job done teams like Cincinnati can’t hold up playing a daunting schedule. Look at our schedule next year brother and tell me they would have a winning season? I think I read somewhere where Cincinnati ain’t beat Ohio St in a 100 years and if that’s true there’s a reason why. The Cinderella story have a better chance of happening the first game of a regular season when it’s playoff time you can forget it, it ain’t happening. Georgia was the 4th best team in the SEC this year and Cincinnati put up a good fight but in the end they couldn’t get it done.

Oh, I absolutly agree they showed they belong in the conversation. Losing by 1 point to Georgia... regardless of opt-outs... showed they are no pushover at all.
But I don't think it was a BS call 😀
LOL... Southern you make me laugh...Again why is A&M more worthy of Tha 4th spot than Indiana or Cincinnati? Ohio State just throttled Clemson and Indiana gave Ohio State all they could handle in their building and frankly should have won that game... By the way whats the SEC bowl record right now?
@the-funeral-director: Who would you have left out?? Indy instead of ND?? I could see that. I'm guessing the committee may have shied away from Indy because of the way the "won" against us and the fact that our overall record was terrible. However, they were 3-1 against top 30 teams but Oklahoma was 5-1 using the same metrics. If you go strictly by strength of schedule, then yes, you have a valid point. There are so many variable to throw in, that we could debate back and forth till next September and we'd both be right; and wrong. I say, play the championship game, throw the damn calendar in the woodstove and put an asterisk behind this year's champ and move on.
I'd like to see a larger pool of teams in the playoff mix as well. I'd like to see 16 and get rid of the bowl games all together. From personal experience in my sport; if they had only left the top 4 compete in each weight class at nationals, I would not have been able to compete at all.
IMO - Starting line up of Cincy vs GA - Cincy was the better team hands down. Now, here is where the difference is made - the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th string guys that get playing time to help rest the starters. Cincy just didn't have the quality depth to finish this on off.
@bobs-dimpled-chin. Had Georgia not had 10 starters out Cincinnati ain’t even close. I’m not dogging Cincinnati out because they have a good team but it’s crazy to put them up against Georgia when Georgia recruits top 10 every year sometimes top 5. Georgia is up there with Ohio st and Cincinnati ain’t beat Ohio State in a 100 years.
