Any chance Franklin can get his hire prior to the early signing day and get Julian Fleming to change his mind and decommit from OSU and come back to Happy Valley?

Maybe if the new OC is Brian Hartline.  Or co OC.  Supposedly Fleming really likes Coach Hartline and it played a lot into his decision.  It would be great to get this kid to play for PSU.

Interesting thought but unlikely  Besides, it would be a bad precedent to bring in a coach to appease a recruit.

It definitely help them.  When they got Larry Johnson from us.  I know what you’re saying.  It’s not a good look. I wish we would have kept Larry Around.  He was a good coach and recruiter.

Brian Hartline has no experience call an offense and has never been an OC.  I like Hartline but did I not hear a bucnh of complaining about Rahne being green and learning on the job.

IMO they go after someone with experience.

What makes everyone think Fleming will pan out, he is good but did he not play in the smallest div for high school football.  He will be on a leave playing field let's just see what he does.

Fleming will start next year at OSU. No chance he's flipping to PSU. Again, he WILL start, he WILL pan out. Kids a freak athlete.

He might... Go ask all the other freak athletes that did not pan out and why...

He can stay at OSU...

I don't care one way or the other but this is not small time high school ball and everyone is close really good.  He wont be lining up against some scrub.

A good article regarding OSU’s stacked WR recruiting class. Plus, they are loaded at the WR position on  the current roster, including Garrett Wilson, a very highly rated kid in last year’s class. Nobody will be handed a starting spot on OSU’s team, including Fleming, he’ll have to work for it. That already have a loaded room. The article talks about one of them not being productive until he realized how he was going to have to approach things to get playing time and be successful. Fleming is no different. And neither is Shorter.

Shorter isn't close to as good as Fleming is.  The kid is a freak. No mystery why he's the number 1/2 recruit in the country and #1 WR..

  Lionbacker99 that article is wrong...Njigba is fifth and Scott is 12th according to 247.

@billmurray

No one disagrees with you that he is a freak athlete, but many freak athletes have failed.

He will be lining up against other freak athletes he might struggle... Ranking players from large schools that compete against the best is hard enough let alone ranking a player like Flemming.  What 5*-4* players did he need to face day to day week to week?
