Recruiting is rather slow or so it seems. How many scholies do we have to invest in next years class and is Pa that low in quality recruits?
Actually nationally it has been slow. Rivals Mike had a article about how commits are waiting this year than to past years. I’ve heard 18-20 this year they can take.
Read at Penn State Daily that there was a 5 star on campus today plus one that is a potential 5 star. Tried to find out who they were but I needed to be a paying customer of 247 to read article. Was wondering if anyone knew who these two guys were and who else is on campus today. Used to be able to get this info from PennLive but, you know the rest of that story.
Not a huge surprise, Garrett Schrader QB verbaled to Jo Mo and Miss St yesterday. WR target Metchie picked up an Alabama offer.
CC, is missing on Shrader a big miss? is there another QB we’ve got our eyes on?
Would have been nice to have him, but PSU already has a verbal from 2019 QB Taquan Roberson. Most of these QBs want to "be the man" and the clear top QB in the class. Would be surprised if PSU takes another 2019 QB. They seem to have some good QB depth.
I don't think they will. Shrader was a "great if we can get him, if not move on" kid. They also still have interest from Taisun Phommachanh from CT who is a much higher ranked player
As others have said, Schrader would have been nice, but not the end of the world. With Stevens returning and Roberson coming in, Penn State will have 5 scholarship QBs on the roster. (McSorely, Stevens, Clifford, Zembiec, and Levis in 2018; Stevens, Clifford, Zembiec, Levis, and Roberson in 2019). In the past, Franklin has said he would like 5 on the roster. I don’t see the need to bring in a second QB in this already small class unless they really like someone a lot, in addition to Roberson. That would put 6 scholarship QBs on the roster in 2019, unless they already know one (not named Stevens) is leaving?
more new news: 5* DE Zach Harrison from Ohio has locked in his official visit to PSU the weekend of April 20th.
