@the-funeral-director you know man, to tell you the gods honest truth, I really don't give a crap, honestly. I have soooo many more important things to care and worry about in my life that I can't waste the time I have left on this earth worrying or trying to figure out things that are beyond my control and don't affect my life.
But, I do like messing with you guys and especially my closet SEC / Bama loving Southern Brother from another Mother!!!
On a side note, since I decided I'm giving up on the fake scam college football farce and taking up being a fan of curling, instead of looking for a curling fan forum I'm going to follow in Caven's footsteps and create my own forum. It's going to be called curling rocks of the granite table. See what I did there? I'll send you an invite when I get it up and running!
@navylion. Lol, we know the answer brother we sometimes just like to make excuses ( the teams with the best players will usually win) lol. Joe Paterno was asked how he beat Bobby Bowdon so many time and joe said I had better players and I also heard A reporter ask Bobby Bowdon how he won all the games he did and he said I had better players. They’ve got to be something to it with having the best players lol
Sure they do...C'mon Southern you know better...How many 5* recruits don't pan out? How many 3* recruits end up being great? By your standards why play the games? In your mind just give the title to Bama or Clemson every year...SMFH
@southern-psu-fan...YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD SOUTHERN, while, maybe unwittingly, disclosing college football's biggest problem..The sport is, and has been dominated for some time by the BIG3, Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State..and as long as Messrs Saban, Swinney stay in their current post, that's not changing anytime soon..You need to just check the recruiting rankings to see that..
You guys spend a lot of time expanding the CFPlayoffs, but IMO, while Id have no problem going to 8, the current set up is just fine..You have the BIg 3, and everyone else competing for the 4th spot..and in the typical year, the writers, coaches, the CFP Committee all agree on team 4..Until the balance of power shifts, or gets more level, I see no reason to add teams...In fact, I prefer the 4, as all games now count, and it preserves the importance of the regular season, one of the hallmarks of college football..I hate to see the regular season get watered down..And if a team fails to get selected for the playoff, a NY6 bowl is still incentive
How would taking conference champions make the regular season not matter or be watered down? You win the conference, you get in. That means all your games matter until the end. Also, teams know they have to keep winning and play hard even if they lose that last game, because the 2 wildcards are open and they'll be taking someone.
So an 8 team playoff means: All games in conference MATTER. In 2016 ours didn't, they still took Ohio State. In an 8 team system, both teams go because OSU's games mattered and they impressed even though they lost 1 to us. That system is fair, and still rewards teams that may have lost a close one but are still very good.
8 games would also lead to more competitive scheduling, because you can go outside your conference and test yourself without the fear of being completely out of it while Washington from the PAC 12 schedules terrible teams.
@roaminglion...It just wont be the same .LOOk as I said, I can live with it but one of the distinguishing marks of college football from the the other sports is the importance of the regular season..and with 4 spots, and 5 conference champs, the format now makes the conferences compete against each other
No matter how you slice it, the "automatic bid" process waters things down ....AS it stands now, an Oklahoma just cant afford to lose to a 4-6 KSU, and then ISU ...And its a rare yr, I doubt there was one, where the 5 power5 champs were the top 5 teams in country...There is always 1-2 conf champs not deserving..
IMO, college football has a much bigger problem than the CFP; ITS THE BIG 3 DOMINATION Id like to see that solved first before expanding playoffs..

The regular season does not matter due to this system. If all 5 conference champs have 1 loss, how did the regular season matter? 1 team gets left behind for doing just as well as the others. How was it fair, and how did the season "matter", for Texas A&M? They lost once to #1, and played in a conference that won 6 bowl games.
Clemson's conference? 0-6. Yet that conference got 2 in? Nonsense, how do you even argue that the regular season mattered at all? It's just "eye test" BS. TCU's season didn’t matter in 2014 when their only loss was #5 Baylor (11-1), while Ohio State lost to 6-6 Virginia Tech.
And to answer your question about Oklahoma: They lost to a 5-7 team in 2015 and still got in.
@the-funeral-director. I agree with a lot of what you say I’m just back tracking on saying the games are fixed because I don’t believe they are I don’t believe the big 10 gets with the refs to screw Penn St. I do believe there has been refs that don’t like Penn St and would give a team like Michigan the close calls but I don’t think the big 10 is behind it but the big 10 knew they had a problem and they fixed it with replay. Bottom line is the teams that recruit top 5 every year are the same team gettin in the playoffs every year Alabama, Clemson and Ohio St and like I told roam since Ohio st beat Clemson doesn’t mean everybody else can Ohio st is a top 5 team pretty much every year on the field and in recruiting. Still got to play the games because we will win some of those big time games.
Look what Washington, Michigan St, Clemson, Ohio St, Oklahoma and ND got in the playoffs..their ass handed to ‘em so what do you think will happen if we sends lightweights to the playoffs? Ole time AZZ kickings IMO. Just got to get an eight team playoff
As a former Army Aviator, I would like to welcome you to the Ice Palace. The key to happiness is all about perspective and priorities.
Wow, that is a really nice stone. Did you notice the yellow handle, really nice contrast.
Sigh.....Lake, you and I need to talk. It's obvious to all with a set of eyes that the poor girl could have easily had her fingers crushed by that stone. Frankly, I'm appalled that you missed that and focused solely on the stone.

whoa, whoa, whoa, just a minute there tsuga and before you get all judgy on me. Begin by concentrating on her broad chest area, then move northward to view the relaxed expression on her face. Clearly she is not concerned about crushing her finger.
@lakerie: By thunder there is a young lady in that pic. I was more focused on the hand. She looks Russian to me, as in I'd be Russian to meet her. I wonder if she's into harmless old men??

Look guys, just because I am giving up Crooked conference, referee fixing, scam CFP Committee ESPN influenced NCAA biased college football and becoming a curling fan doesn’t mean you guys have to jump on my band wagon because of my forum curling girls!!
southern, I will say college football (actually all college sports) is a little less fun with the big and rich programs getting bigger and richer. Its become an arms race, schools with the most financially successful athletic programs building bigger and better facilities, paying huge bucks for high profile head and assistiant coaches being are able to attract the best athletes that intend to leave as soon as possible for the NFL. I'm thinking along the same vein as FD, maybe I'll pick out my favorite Ivy league or DIII school to root for.
