Yesterday it was 75 and I got a sunburned back from being "too hot" to work with a shirt on. Today it's 25 deg and blowing like a bitch!

On vacation this week brother down here at lake Sinclair at my father-in-law house and it’s been warm good weather. Helping get a little work done so we can enjoy the summer. Had fileg mignon, bake potato, great salad and of course great Killian Irish Red beer baby. I’m trying to practice my Irish accent but it ain’t doing any good,  the ghetto got to me lol

It's not over yet.  Weekend in the 80s again.  Might see a frost or two before it's over. That's why I don't like planting until the week of memorial day.

@forum-titan Yeah, I won't put tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos or ground cherries in until mid May. Squash, melons, cukes and pumpkins will go in around or after Memorial Day.

The Pumpkin jalapenos were a bust last year, took too long to ripen and they were a bit small. Ate most of them green. Going to try brown ones this year.

Yep, I was disappointed with Serrano and jalapeños.  I didn't jar many at all.

Do you swear by the almanac? Hopefully,  this year will be a better harvest. It's strange.

@forum-titan I've tried to do the almanac thing, but being this close to the lake, there's a micro climate that the Almanac can't quite take into account, because it's such a small area vs the overall NE or Great Lakes regions.

Also tried the whole planting by the moon thing, I couldn't tell the difference.

You have any luck in that respect?

I got into it then realized it's not that critical.  I like reading it though for predictions of weather and gardening tips.

@forum-titan Yep, I hear ya.  When it's planting season, the soil is right and you can make time, you plant! Doesn't matter what phase the moon is in.
