Southern, I know you won't understand or remember this but I have to try. As has been said on here before, tariffs do not get paid by the country that exports. They are paid by the people in the countries that import. In other words you and me. Now they may hurt the exporting countries because people will look to imports coming from some else. This doesn't really work if you put tariffs on every country.

I don’t forget much when y’all say something I just believe with Trump he’s a negotiator and whatever he’s doing with these tariffs will work out in the end and it will be all good. That is true Southern. Many consider an enemy. I would like to see everything made here in the States. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. How do we get there? If it were that easy we would be doing it already.
For decades China positioned itself to be a manufacturing center of the world. Cheap labor costs mean they can produce products dirt cheap relative to other countries.
Another key factor are when corporations go global. It becomes an easy way to reduce production costs by simply outsourcing to China and other countries.
For an example, They just processed about 400 acres of land about 20 miles from where I live. I watched them cut every tree and bulldoze the land. And do you want to know what they are putting on that land?
Distribution centers. Amazon, Walmart just to name a few. Global corporations. And where do they get their products from? Foreign countries. Not an easy thing to stop or control.
