Not sure about any of you. I'm a GMC, Chevy man when it comes to trucks. Have you seen the MSRP on some of these trucks? You can't touch their base model less than 50k. If you want something fully loaded make sure you can afford 120k. Governor of Michigan is putting together a bill to arrange rebate plan to lower vehicle prices and boost sales. Can someone explain to me how a truck is worth 120k?
Is the engine gold plated?
Yep, it's crazy what they're asking for trucks! The frame of my '09 is rusting out. Looked at a couple used trucks, 'cause I need a farm truck. Decided I'll get the frame reinforced & welded up.
I paid $28k for my 1st house. (yes, I'm that old) Ya can't even get a good used truck for that these days.
I see base model Chevy's starting at 30k, so are you talking about a specific model? Not sure about any of you. I'm a GMC, Chevy man when it comes to trucks. The cost of cars and trucks are killing people’s finances. I heard the repo of cars is at an all time high and I can understand why. Then there’s the cost of insurance on the new cars. I’m glad my shit is paid for. I’m hoping by the time I have to buy a car they’ve got their minds made up on what way we’re going to go. I always like the hybrid idea because it ran off gas and electric but I don’t guess that satisfied John Kerry lol
Roam, I heard the cheapest new car was around 40k? Maybe I Miss understand what I heard?
Hybrid really only runs on Electric if it's a plug in hybrid. If it's not, the engine is generating electricity but it still needs gas to run.The cost of cars and trucks are killing people’s finances. @roaminglion I like the idea of having a car that runs the first 50 miles on electric and then runs on gas that way most people could get to work without burning so much gas and it can save people money on gas. If politicians would stay the Fudge out of the way the car manufacturers could probably get it done. Let the markets decide.
I have one, lol. Plug in hybrid, it gets 35 miles on electric and switches to gas. I got 6700 miles on it, over 4000 have been electric miles@roaminglion I like the idea of having a car that runs the first 50 miles on electric and then runs on gas that way most people could get to work without burning so much gas and it can save people money on gas. @roaminglion I didn’t know they made the trucks but I knew a guy that had a car and that dude said he loved it. I drive 17 miles to work so that would be great for me. That’s the way we need to go. Just don’t sound like that’s the way the car manufacturers are going not unless they’re just telling the nuts out there what they want to hear. Good for you Roam, I’m glad you have one and like it.
It's a minivan, yeah I sold out for the kiddos. Makes it super easy lmao@roaminglion I didn’t know they made the trucks but I knew a guy that had a car and that dude said he loved it. That's the base model. WT, 2WD, bare bones. 2.7L which is most likely a 6 cylinder. If I'm buying a truck it's going to be at least a 5.0 V8 with 4WD. Those base models have no torque, no pulling power, all 4 wheels don't spin when you need them to.

Yep, rot, rot, rot. Not sure what it is. I'm guessing it's a combination of road salt and cheap metal with high carbon content. I've looked at trucks less than 10 years age with severe rust. I'm talking rotted spring perches, holes in rocker panel. If you buy one used or new you must undercoat them Day 1.
Well then say that, you litterally stated you couldnt find a base model for less than 50k. You're acting like Chevy makes no trucks you can afford, then we find out you are complaining because the top of the line Silverado costs too much.I see base model Chevy's starting at 30k, so are you talking about a specific model? Not sure about any of you. So basically I didn't say everything you wanted to hear. I'm looking for a decent used truck. I have a budget. Maybe you have 60-120k to throw around. I don't. I did say it in the above post. I'm not complaining. I'm stating fact. Trucks are more expensive now which raises prices for the used sector.
@forum-titan No, basically you said stupid crap. You stated you werent able to touch Chevy or GMC base models for less than 50k. Then when I pointed out base models are 30k, you complained that those ones arent good enough for you.
Now you're trying to act like it was about used cars
Dang Roam, you’re right. https://www.motortrend.com/features/cheapest-new-pickup-trucks?slide=9

Nah, you just say stupid crap. It's not hard dude... if you are gonna say there are no base models under 50k, and someone corrects you stating there are base models just over 30k... just say you didn't know that and move on. Don't then complain they aren't the ones you want and make up some wierd story about how you really meant used cars. See how that works?@forum-titan No, basically you said stupid crap.
