Battery went in my Dodge Ram. Little or no corrosion on the terminals, pleasantly surprising. I was fighting the, for lack of a better explanation, soft sided cooler like insulation containment around the battery. The lid of the "cooler" kept closing and velcroing itself back together.  Each time it closed, I thought, I don't remember this being such a PITA to work around last time I changed this out. The more I worked at it, the more I thought, I should remember doing this before. I finally got it out, threw it in the jeep and headed to the store to get a new one.

Got to the parts store and heaved it up on the counter. Then I looked at it a little closer; "Chrysler LLC" stamped on the top. That was the original battery! As much as one individual doesn't like Rams, mine is an '09 and that battery was pushing 25 yrs old. Oh & yep, the engine and tranny are original too.

I think you mean 15 years old, but that is damn impressive for a battery.

My goodness that’s awesome you got that many years out of a battery. Man batteries have gone up in price. You use to get a new battery for $50 or $60 bucks now it’s like $150 or more. I bet the batteries in electric cars are sky high. I’ve made up my mind, I’m going the hybrid route the next time I buy a car I heard Clark Howard bragging on ‘em and I usually listen to him because it’s worked for me over the years. What would Clark do? I’m a follower brother 😂

@southern-psu-fan This one was almost $200. Yep, I had to look twice to make sure that was the right price. Pretty sure they got heavier too! lol
