The corona virus made us realize how much we depend on other counties for cheap manufactured goods. I bought a TV the other day, says "Built in WIFI". No clue where WIFI is, can't find it on the world map, but I'm speculating it's somewhere near Fiji.
LMAO
...on a serious note my opinion of american-made goods is that NAFTA and to a degree the American consumer are the main reasons for that problem.
NAFTA for obvious reasons, but I blame the American consumer because they kept opting to buy the cheap chit rather than the american-made stuff. I remember back in the mid-90s when Walmart had a huge "Made in America" section. My mom and dad would always buy stuff from in there first, before we bought stuff from the other sections...
...however, you could see in the checkout line that other people were opting for the cheap 10 pack undershirts made in China rather than the 5 pack made in America. They are also the same people years later blaming politicians for it, shirking off any personal responsibility whatsoever for the fall of the American textile industry.
Sorry for the soap box 🙄
I buy my work boots made in USA. I bought 2 pair of the same in 2015. Still have them. They take a good beating. Â
