Has anyone bought windshield wipers lately? $40 a piece, on sale! Are they made of unobtanium? WTF?
I can remember when, you could get a pair for 1/2 that much....back in the days when both wiper arms used the same length blade. And what's up w/ that? I'd like one of those automotive "engineers" explain to me why it's an improvement to have one blade 14" and one 16.
Now, get off my lawn!
My understanding is that modern windshields are curved more than they used to be, which is one reason. They other, more important reason is that car companies started prioritizing the view in front of the driver rather than the entire windshield. Because of this, the driver wiper is larger so that it wipes the maximum amount of area. Since this wiper is now larger, to make room the other wiper got smaller to fit in the remaining space.
That said, I always get Bosch Icons. They do a great job and last a while. But man you're right they have gotten real expensive!
And while I'm bitchin', I want wings back on my windows!
@been-there-ii I gotta replace mine, I might wait 😂
We gotta defensive line struggling and y’all are worried about windshield wipers. WTH is the world coming too? 😂
@southern-psu-fan My eyesight isn't what it used to be. Football problems, I can ignore. Running over those damn deer, costs more than $80 for wiperbaldes. 😨

Just bought tires for my Outback and paid over $1000 and can remember when tires were less than $30 a piece.
@psujoe Yeah, hoping my tires pass inspection next week or I'll be buying tires too. Not even sure if you can get bias ply tires anymore. I can remember the 1st time I bought steel belted radials, thought I was livin' large!
Over $600 for a darn windshield? And my dealer tries to comment into buying a $120 dollar air filter every time I go in for service.
Haha yeah the air filter always makes me laugh.Over $600 for a darn windshield? And my dealer tries to comment into buying a $120 dollar air filter every time I go in for service.
The thing that pisses me off is when the dealer tries to convince me that I need to come in every 5,000 miles even though the company states it's every 10,000. They're all like "that's too long" and I always say "well they make the car so...."
