Just wondering if there will be companies that will be able to change over gas cars to electric cars assuming if it’s possible? We’re 10-15 years away but it may be a great business to get in?

Yup,  There's a guy down in Texas that runs a business converting old muscle cars into electrics.

A famous conversion is the 1968 Mustang called Zombie 222.

Pretty sure they are working on motors to easily replace gas too, something you could buy and have a local mechqnic put in. Of course, those are much further off... right now it's fairly complicated/time intensive.

@roaminglion  I try and listen to clark Howard and most of the time I always take his advice and run with it and he’s now saying it may be time to buy electric cars and that’s what I’ll do going forward. I take very good care of our cars and I just bought my wife a Lincoln Navigator a year ago and I’m hoping the next time I buy a car I’ll buy Tanya an electric SUV and I’m hoping to convert the Navigator over to electric. Things might change in 10 years but I like to think ahead because I don’t like car payments lol. Of course in 10 to 15 more years I won’t need 2 cars we should be near retirement and we’ll probably only need 1 car I’ll face that bridge when it gets here. Ain’t no way I would buy a gas car after 2027 because you don’t know what the future holds, right? This change over could kill the car industry

@southern-psu-fan I wouldn't worry too much about the car industry bro. Just a different power plant to make it go. Up this way, we'll still rust them out before the engine or motor dies. That and the government has proven, it won't let the big three fade away.

When I build, I'll have my electrician buddy put in a breaker box w/ an extra space or two to run a charger line out to the garage....assuming it'll take a breaker all it's own.

That is exactly what we did for our Tesla. Ran a line on a separate 100 amp breaker for the car. I believe 60 amps was the max for 1 car but we future proofed if we needed two chargers.

@been-there-ii  I know that’s right BT I have 15 more years hopefully and it’ll be time for a new car anyway lol. I may have timed buying my wife’s navigator at the right time. I’d like to keep that baby in great shape and pay to have it changed up but who know it’s years away but it’s coming brother.

I never realized communism or maybe just Russian communism, was so unequal for wealth distribution. Not that I believed everything was equal, but holy crap! I'd like to sign up for one of those yachts that seem to be popping up all over.
