You remember awhile back when we discussed planting dates for vegetables, plants?. I said I never plant anything until Mid- late May.
Believe it or not but we had patch frost this morning here. The cold weather got my small Eastern red bud. It wilted. It's still in the pot, about 8-12 inches tall. Hopefully it recovers with some TLC.
Bummer about your redbud. They are pretty tough, you should be fine. Mine is just finishing up blooming. We missed the frost here, the lake kept us "warm". The farmers that got corn in before the rains restarted, is germinated. Pretty yellow from the cold though. Tomatoes are in, beans are breaking ground, but not real happy. Moved the peppers back into the greenhouse, they yellowed up pretty bad too. Hope it warms up before they get rootbound. Plastic is down, just need a break in the weather so I can wade in and plant them.
Grass is growing like crazy. Getting a little tired of mowing w/ my winter coat on.

Yeah, grass is growing like crazy. It's been raining all week. I broadcasted some milorganite fertilizer recently. Working pretty good. Planting this week.
lol I try not to encourage my lawn, occasionally I'll 2-4D the dandelions, but other than that, it just makes it grow faster. I spend too much time mowing as it is. Good luck planting! I'm not thinking mine will be dry enough to walk in for a while. Gave the peppers a shot of fertilizer, between that and warming back up in the greenhouse, they're not a sickly yellow anymore.
My lawn is great. I find that if you mow it short enough the weeds look just like grass.

That beer looks warm ! There should be frost on the outside of the can. I like my beer ice cold.

Just a little FYI if you ever need your beer cold in a hurry. Put your beer in the cooler, ice, about 3 cups of water and a hand full of salt. Steer it up bit. Beer will be ice cold in about 20 minutes.

@been-there-ii I’m not big on whiskey but my daughter gets me some pecan whiskey when they go to Gatlinburg it’s a local whiskey up there and it’s some pretty good stuff brother. I guess fireball is a whiskey, right? I bought a few when I heard you talk about it. I like it with diet Dr. Pepper 😁 I believe that’s what you like that’s why I picked them up I wanted to try it.

Have to imagine, if you take out the cinnamon, it's pretty crappy whiskey. But on the flip side, you don't put top shelf booze in a mixed drink either.

I'll have to try it. For Whiskey I'm a Crown Royal fan. Straight on crushed ice or Coke.
