I’ll take any coach out there as long as they get rid of Jim Knowles the dude looks lost and I ain’t buying BS 3 years to get his defense going. I still can’t get over my wife watching the Iowa QB run free all game and she’s was wondering why we keep letting him run like he is 😂 his ass should’ve been shown the door after the UCLA game and it’s got worse every game since. Sometimes shit works and sometimes it don’t. We’re doomed on defense if this dude stays trust me I can see this shit more from a mile away baby. I was very confident that James Franklin run was over after the ND game and I know y’all remember me complaining about that loss because it was a devastating loss and I’m telling ya, I see the same thing with Jim Knowles. There’s absolutely nothing good about our defense this year believe what your eyes see.
I never thought I'd want a coach gone more than I wanted Jimmy to be shown the door, but Knowles beat him! AK is running neck & neck for the Gonzo award!!
@rip the dude on locked on nittany lions says it takes 3 years to get his defense working good roam said 2 years and I would be willing to give him another year if I saw the defense getting better. I could see 2 years but getting run over by ucla, NW and Iowa I just don’t believe it’s going to work. I’m willing to change my mind if I can see the defense gets some stops in the next 5 games. We still have time to get a winning season and that’s the goal. I’m very forgiving if we start winning
Have to get a couple good LBs from the portal, before this defense can do anything, for any coach.
This D is doing nothing no matter the coach until they have a solid line that is 2-3 deep, LBs depth, and corners who can play physical man coverage.
IMO, lol, there is a certain amount of complexity that a D needs to disguise coverage, but, man it don't need to be rocket science, and it's not like we are fielding a team of engineers; maybe at Stanford, NW, but not PSU.
I can give Knowles a break on losing to Oregon and Ohio State and I would’ve given him another year to beat the heavyweights but NW, UCLA and Iowa you have to beat these teams now you don’t get 2 or 3 years. Let’s see how we finish and I hope I’m eating my words.
61, the days of being 2 or 3 deep is probably over with the transfer portal and money.
I don't see why it should take 1, 2, or 3 yrs to stop a QB from running roughshod through the D!

Fran Brown (syr) Fired one coach, demoted another one. The one that got demoted should have been fired, but he has strong NJ recruiting ties.
@rip I've seen more than enough of Ak's system to know it's not working. I'd give Knowles another year. But then, all this will be up to the new head coach...if we ever get one.
Yep, BT, a new broom sweeps clean so they say. It'll be interesting to see if Knowles survives.
