8pt. 17 3/4" spread. Dressed out at 176.
Oh, you were talking hunting skills? When I read the topic header, I thought to myself, a good antibiotic should fix that.
Congrats! Nice deer! (maybe next time, don't have the deer pen in the background)
Sorry, been so long since I busted yer balls, I can't help myself.
Good to see you're still kickin'!
@been-there-ii You're still a crusty old jarhead. How are things on your side of the swamp??
@kularrow That's a dandy buck!! Is that a PA deer?? I just recently sold my last property in PA. The new owners allowed me to hunt it one last time. I'd been hunting on that land since '77. Lots of memories. I even shed a tear when I left my stand for the last time. Im not sure how old ya are but cherish your time in the woods. When ya get to be an old fart like me you begin the see your days in the woods are numbered.
@tsuga Crusty? Here & I thought I was being fresh!
Doing well thanks! Hope you & the Mrs, et al. are the same!
@tsuga Yessir PA 8 point. Public Land buck in Greene County. I’m still young enough to hike up ridges and use a climber to get up 18 feet. I take a week off of work every November and sit dark to dark everyday. I wouldn’t trade it for the world and when you can connect with a nice archery buck it makes it that much sweeter. Merry Christmas sir.
@been-there-ii We're all doing well my friend. Getting geared up for ice-fishing and right around the corner is sap season.
Speaking of sap season, my neighbor is still single and looking. I know how you get all twitterpated when you see a redhead. Heck, if you're nice to her she may even shave.......her legs.
Just let me know and I'll arrange a meeting for you. By the way, she dips Copenhagen and I think she prefers Levi Garrett as her side chew. bring those along up with you and she'll be like putty in your hands.
@kularrow I was an enlisted man. Ya dont have to call me sir. Greene county yields some decent bucks as I recall. I grew up and lived in York County until I retired early and moved to Maine. The property I just sold was in Tioga county. Hunting in Maine is pretty cool. If you ever get a chance, go for it. There's only about 10-15 deer/square mile where I hunt so its not uncommon to go a long spell without seeing a tail. I mostly sit and wait now. I cant run the ridges like I used to. Up until a few years ago, I used to guide hunters for moose. I still strap on the snowshoes and look for sheds, I just dont cover as much ground as I once did......lol.
@tsuga I was enlisted too. I hunted Gifford Pinchot a little bit when I lived in Harrisburg. I always heard there were monsters in there. I have a buddy in Maine and I thought it was funny the Remington 7600/760 Pump is really popular up there as well.
@kularrow : Thank you for your service. Ahhh yes, the 760 Game master pump. My pop had one in a 35. He dropped a lot of deer in Perry County PA with that rifle. He never put a scope on it. Used iron sights right up to the year He passed away. I'm not sure what most guys use up here. As for me, I use the same Marlin 336 in a .35 that I bought when I got back from Nam.
Where's your buddy live up here?? I'm in a little town called Farmington here in western Maine.
Lots of vets on this forum. If you get a chance, chew on Navylion's ear. He's a lifer. Stay away from BT......he's a bad influence.
@tsuga Good to hear everyone is doing well! Hope it's a whole lot colder up there, than down here or ypou'll have to learn to walk on water. 55 deg the other day and sunny! Sunny is a rare commodity around here in the winter, too close to the lake.
You (she) had me goin', right up until the Levi Garrett. Now if she was a Redman Plug girl, Katy bar the door!
That and Lil Susie probably wouldn't understand. Speaking of women and understanding. I for one, can't figure 'em out. Sue was over for dinner the other night & tells me I needed to put ketchup on my grocery list.....now I can't read a thing on it! SMH
@been-there-ii : I'm sure she'd change her ways for a virile man such as yourself.
Ain't it about time you give that joke book back to your grandkids??
@tsuga Ya think she's up and relocate? I'm not giving up this farm for anything, too much blood, sweat and tears invested. As I'm sure you've endured yourself.
Nope! Not givin' it back until I plagiarize the whole damn thing! Hard to believe, but I got a "Dad Joke of the Day" calendar for Christmas. So, stand by!
@been-there-ii She's a 60+ year old woman who's never had her legs parted much less her quim breached. Of course she'll move.
I'll consider myself warned about the daily jokes!!!
60+ yrs old and never had a man? Save me some internet search time, are you sure she's not one of those, let's be friends, women?
Yes sir, you've been warned. But if they're as bad as the last dad joke calendar, you won't have to worry about a daily onslaught. 1/2 of them didn't meet my standards. & ya know my standards are pretty low.
@been-there-ii I'm pretty sure she prefers the sausage over the taco but rumor has it she's in to strap on tools
@tsuga Yeah, my neighbor down the road is a Snap-on deal...er...ah...oh. Well, that sent a shiver right down me timber.
Ya know you should tell someone you love them on Jan 1, it's only the fist date.
Ya know you should tell someone you love them on Jan 1, it's only the fist date.
Back in my teenage days I had several fist dates with Gina and Raquel. I never told them that I loved them, just wanted to ravage their bodies for a minute or two.
@tsuga Glory Days!
Heard this one yesterday, right up Lake's alley.
I met a cutie that works at the zoo the other day. We hit it off and I asked her out on a date. She covered all my "gotta have/be" bases.
Yep, she's a keeper.
@roaminglion My fist never touched them but it sure had a firm grip on my handle.
