Daultin Perry.  State champion at 126. The young man is a freshman in HS and trains at M2 with David Taylor. No telling what he'll weigh when he puts on the blue and white singlet. I would guess 141/149.

They say he's cut from the same cloth Lee was. Same workmanlike approach to the sport.

Thoughts??

He should be a good addition.

You hearing any scuttlebutt on Woods, beyond this? https://victorybellrings.com/2022/03/29/penn-state-wrestling-transfer-real-woods/?utm_campaign=FanSided+Daily&utm_source=FanSided+Daily&utm_medium=email

BT, he would be a great addition.  I heard Michigan, that's mostly internet rumors though.  Bartlett needs to stop wrestling to not lose and start wrestling to win.  Woods could step in a 141 and with Lee still staying on a NLWC, he'd have a great training partner.  BB could redshirt a year and gain experience.  Van Ness is more apt to wrestle at 149, and I look for him to AA.  I'd like to see us bring in David Carr thru the portal, but that seems highly unlikely right now too.  But hey, anything can change in a week or two.  Who knows??

I've seen Perry wrestle and for a freshman, he's the real deal.  Again, he still has some growing and filling out to do, but man, this kid is a stud. If he doesnt burn out, he'll be a ball of fire when he gets to HV.

Im glad I found you on here, Navylion has been in touch with Cave to get your e-mail address to the old man.  He (NL) thought it would be a good idea for you two jarheads to keep in touch.   The old man has slowed down quite a bit.  The Covid has really knocked the wind out of his sails.  His ice shack has never made it off the trailer and most days now he's in the sugar shack getting in my uncle's way.  Sap season is doing real well up there, so I'm told. Grandma said he did one quick loop in the woods a few days back looking for sheds but wasnt gone for more than an hour tops.

Cave, I'm good with giving out my email address. I'd do it myself, but I think that was one of the rules that we haven't broken yet.

@been-there-ii   I'll be sure he sees this post if I get up there for Easter. He may have been quite the stud back in the disco era.  I think he still has a leisure suit in his wardrobe in hopes that it comes back in style.

@thepakid He's a better man than I. I only have one suit, I wear it to weddings and funerals. (kinda one in the same to me, either way, a good man is at the end of the line)

@navylion: NL, looks like we missed some Monday night fireworks.  Some interesting reads on the Nick Lee thread. Two days late and a dollar short.

No offense, but weren't you the one posting many times a year or so ago about not posting political stuff on the board? I mean, 1 or 2 posts you even copied and pasted the forum rules in bold colored type to make sure we all saw it.

Not sure why my one post stating the water cooler was the proper spot for gun talk became such a big deal, especially from someone who was on the "enforce the rules" train as much as you were about politics.

Just saying man, a bit pot meeting kettle.

@thepakid I agree with your Bartlett assessment. I think I read where RW has 2 years of eligibility left. He'll never replace Nick but it'll soften the blow of losing him.

Glad to see you're back. You've been missed

I, for one, will be happy when all these self imposed "fishing trips" are over.

@roaminglion I hate to wade back into this quagmire, but I just can't stop myself.

Granted, the firearms post stretched the, where to post what topic rule a bit. However, posting political views was directly against the rules. Yes, I am guilty of contributing to some of those conversations. The hunting post didn't get too many members up in arms, nor did it generate much of a forum community rift.

The political discussions on the other hand, very much split our once PSU oriented family into two factions. That as yet hasn't come back together. I don't believe Navy started copying and pasting the rules until after we, as a group, came to the conclusion that politics were detrimental to the forum unity. The way I understood it, Navy's posts were directed towards few individuals that couldn't let go and seemed to think they needed to get one last shot in before calling a truce.

Bottom line, no one changed anyone else's opinions about how our country should be run. Like wise, we all have out minds set as to whether the, Why do I keep missing my shot? post was completely out of line or not.

Well said and I have no quarrel with anything you posted. My whole point has always been why did this particular post: "Why is this in the Football section? The watercooler exists for this type of discussion... let's keep it tight" elicit such a backlash? I mean, seriously... talk about an overreaction.

In the same thread I even stated: "...if Cave said it's not and should be in the Water Cooler, I'd gladly take it there." when someone pointed out that talking about Bill Belechik was not PSU Football related. Which I disagreed with.

I'll say this one last time, I said it once and didn't demand anything. I said that post should go in the water cooler, IMO it's ridiculous that others reacted by slinging insults and acting like it was some assault on their freedom. Then they got even more mad at me because... gasp... I disagreed with them.

These political posts were from a year ago and in many of them you were talking to other people, not me. The first time you brought it up, this was my response to you:

"under normal circumstances I don't think anyone would really be talking politics, but right now it's pretty obvious the owner is letting us talk about it due to everything going on. For my part, I will commit to no longer talking about it from here on out"

So I said the circumstances were relative, but that I wouldn't keep doing it because you asked. You then went on to remind others multiple times, not me. I'd like to think I was respectful to your request, even though I didn't see an issue of others talking politics at the time. No personal attacks, not making fun of you, none of that.

Look... I am sorry if the post about taking a gun talk to the water cooler was so offensive to people. I don't know why it elicited such a response, I thought it was just a reminder that the water cooler was there. But apparently not. I'm sorry if it offended people.

Wow, its hard to read the stuff on this board anymore. I really dislike conflict and now so much of it here. I am asking for everyone to let this stuff go, not a great reflection who we are. I've taken exception to things said by good posters and I have posted things that I regret but will still stand accountable.

Kid, good to have you back and very glad to hear your grandparents are thriving. Tell your grandpa that the 80's white leisure suit hanging in my closet is now more yellow than white. Very sad, didn't work for me then and unlikely it will now.

So what say all of us, bury the hatchet?

@been-there-ii  Beenthere, much like Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, you’ve encapsulated in just a few words our map forward. Congrats! I am not worthy.

@lakerie Thanks! lol Occasionally I do come up with a workable idea. But, probably way closer to Pee Wee Herman or Soupy Sales, than Lincoln.
