What did you think of today?? What a first round. Loved seeing Howard letting it fly. Lee picked the wrong time to try to hit that move when he was down what 1-0 or 2-0?? Too early in the match but hey, I cant fault the guy for trying to make a splash. Lets hope he survives the blood round and manages to AA.
In my opinion, here's what we need to see tonite:
Howard gets by Lamont (daunting task but not improbable)
Murin loses to Lovett (high possibility)
Berge beats Young (not likely but lets hope he doesnt give up bonus points)
Bolen needs to beat Brands (Brands shouldnt even be in this match)
Warner needs to lose to Davison (mmmm....could happen depending on which Warner shows up)
Figuring the rest of the fields wrestle to chalk and we can pick up a few more bonus points, things are looking good for us. We need 3 of the 5 above scenarios to happen and we'll be sitting good for Friday.
So what do I know?? lol. RH did a great job and we're set at 125 for a few years. Murin did what Murin always does; just enough to win. Berge wrestled a heck of a match and has a puncher's chance of going to the semis. Hoping the next round is just as exciting. Hoping to see some Hawkeyes drop like flies. You have to give them their props, they're wrestling on heck of a tournament.
So what a difference a few hours makes:
Berge pulls the upset and has a decent shot at the semis.
Brands wrestled as expected and lost.
As I'm writing this Warner is leading by 3.
Kerk and Beard have yet to wrestle. Need both to win here. Margin of error is pretty slim here. Desanto needs to lose in quarter finals tomorrow.
We have 7 going into the QF's. Gonna be a great weekend of wrestling!!!

Lake, I’ve got the collard greens 🥬 in the fridge this is the night I always to collard greens, cornbread and cold beer baby. I’ve also got to jerk some chicken today for my wife she likes ole navylions sesame teriyaki marinated with it and boy it is great 😁 that’s some good stuff brother
4 in the finals and 11 points behind Iowa for the team NC
All in all it was a good tournament. I was able to watch the finals last night. Although we didnt win the team ship, we sure as heck won the night. I look at it this way. PSU won 40% of the Championship bouts compared to Iowa's 10% and we stole some of their thunder for sure. Hat's off to Iowa, they had a great line-up and lead from start to finish. I feel sorry for Berge and Howard getting injured. Especially Berge, he's had a pretty tough career and has been dealt some bad hands. Hope he can pick himself up and get back to where he was this year. This team will be just fine next year. I cant wait for the season to start again!!
To all, sorry I didn't respond or post any thoughts during the tournament. I met with a few old wrestling dudes to watch EVERY match match but I didn't have internet access except for my phone which is cumbersone.
