If Nelson Brands wrestles to win, I think Carter Techs him. I also think Brooks can major Assad. Assad isn't the same Assad of last year. The score then becomes Iowa 12/Penn State 25.
Other thoughts. I've watched true freshan Cade Siebrecht and he is stud with a very unconventional, funky style. I don't think he beats Haines but Levi will have his hands full. RSoph Patrick Kennedy is in his third year in the room and this should be his year to show why he was such a highly touted recruit, should be a tight match

@lakerie : Glad you chimed in!! It's always good to read your input. Would love to start at 133 and end at 125 so the Pennsylvanians can give SL his props. I don't see that happening if they start off at 25.
@t-hale that would be nice especially that Steen come from Pennsylvania District 10 in Reynolds somewhat near me. The thing is, Steen is very, very good ( or he wouldn't have been recruited by Cael ). Unfortunately he is just too small for the other 125#r's. Another year in the room weight lifting and eating will make a world of difference if Robbie Howard can't come back or he can't shake off the rust from the layoff. Also, thanks for the kind words. My thoughts on what I saw last night:
125: Vespa? what happened to Steen? Anyway what a gamer and maybe deserves the starting role here on out. Why did Lee settle for a TF when he could have scored a pin? I have questions about his knees to go beyond a period.
133: I didn't realize these guys are friends and train together in the off season. RBY getting the fall made me feel better going in to the next matchs.
141: BB gave Woods way too much respect..star struck maybe? I thought the #4 rank was a little hefty anyway.
149: Murin is very good and is a grizzled vet. I'd like to see SVN shoot more going forward.
157: 2 wrestlers you will hear a lot from for 4 years. Siebricht is very good and funky so Haines' win was solid.
165: Kennedy is a one trick pony with that Russian tie. Facundo will figure it out in the future.
174: Nelson Brands with grand kids gathered around him drinking hot chocolate..."that's right kids, it came right down to the wire, I held off the future 5 time national champ but I almost had em".......Kids...but gramps, how come you didn't try any takedowns?"....Nelson..."cuz that's how we did it in Iowa in those days now shut up and drink your dam hot chocoate!"
184: What happened to Assad? Iowa doesn't have a back up 184#r so Brands throws a 165#r in? On their roster they have freshman Mickey Griffith and Aiden McCain. Maybe he wants to redshirt these guys but he doesn't have to burn both. In the end Brook's TF points didn't matter anyway.
197: Good solid and low scoring victory by Dean. Not flashy but dominant with that ride out.
285: Kerk now owns Cass, no question about it.
The score was 23-14, my prediction was 23-12, pretty close but how we got there was a lot different. Anyway, its always more fun when your team wins but it was a competitive match and the 16,000 attending with Micah Parsons was fun. I'm starting to enjoy Shane Sparks, kind of a likeable idiot.

Don’t think Robbie Howard will be back. Shoulder injuries for wrestlers usually leads to hanging up the shoes. He has missed 2 seasons. Steen will grow and get stronger. I see him AA in the future.
