I know that Rahne replaced Moorhead in the bowl game when He left, any word on the Cotton Bowl?
I'm guessing Bowen since he has experience and was in the booth with Rahne and help from Limegrover from the sidelines...

From what I remember when he came here, Limegrover wants no part of OC duties. He didn't like that job at Minnesota and was kinda pushed into it.
You are correct, why I said he would just be in a support role on the sideline for Bowen. That is just my guess.
I’m assuming head coaches have a few people on the staff that can call plays, right? You never know what can happen
No worries, I will be calling the plays from my couch via facetime! Any particular plays you would like to see? I will try to work them in!!!
GO STATE!!!
I still think Donovan would be a good OC with the talent we have now. I don’t think anybody would’ve done any better with Hack at QB and a bunch of walk-ons.

If it took 2 years to get better I may believe that, but Moorhead came in and within 5 games had the offense light years ahead of where it was at in 2015.
The only true freshman to play on that team who wasn't there in 2015 was Connor McGovern. I just don't see the offense making that huge leap in 2016 with Donovan.
Moorhead had McSorely one of the best QB’s we’ve ever had plus Barkley was a year older probably the best RB we’ve ever had. I just don’t think Donovan had the same situation as Moorhead. Franklin did fire him though

McSorley was on the team in 2015, sorry but if you aren't playing the best QB as an OC that's on you or the HC.

Brother you need to stop drinking that clear liquor it's affecting your brain!!!
He was a freshman but from what I seen in the tax slayer bowl he was the better QB and it wasn’t even close. For some reason James Franklin didn’t play the best QB I just don’t know the reason. Some say the locker room was divided at the time and Franklin didn’t want to lose the team over it but that’s just hard for me to believe but I’m sure he had his reasons and I trust his reason because we have been kicking butt since 2016.
Lol, Y’all may be right buddy all I’m saying is he didn’t have much to work with and James Franklin wasn’t going to bench Hack regardless of how bad he was. I’ve never seen a QB play that bad and not get benched at any level of football lol. BTW I finished that bottle last weekend lol
Whatever Franklin’s reasons were worked because look where we are today. 11-3, 11-2,9-4 and going to be 11-2 again 😁
Yup, it worked... a new OC worked like a charm. LMAO
That's a very good possibility and I am betting on this too. He is capable of getting the uptempo offense back on track. I like this guy, hope to see him calling plays in the bowl game. I doubt JF will make any hiring decisions before this.
And a new QB don’t leave that part out 😁
He was on the team in 2015, wasn't new just not used. Offenses don't get 10-15 points better a game just because, Donovan had 5 years to show what he could do and his offenses were very similar at Vandy and Penn State.
Year 3 at Vandy and the offense still sucked, why you think Penn State in year three would be any different under him I have no idea.
Offense gets better having better players and more experienced players in 2016. All I’m saying it’s not on the same playing field what Moorhead had to work with vs what Donovan had to work with. Donovan as OC won 14 games BOB won 15 and bob had much more experience and better players than Donovan. I pull for whoever the coach is all I’m saying it was an uphill battle for Donovan because of the sanctions because 14 and 15 were the hardest hit teams

I see you completely disregarded where I stated Donovan's offenses were routinely ranked poorly at Vanderbilt, and never got better there either.
And stop using wins as a metric for offensive success, it's only one aspect of a team. Would you grade our defense in 2004 based on wins? NO. We won games in spite of our offense in 2014 & 2015... not because of them. They sucked.
And yes, players get better... but they don't get THAT MUCH BETTER in a freaking year. Just stop it, your just wrong. There is a reason Donovan isn't working in a major position anywhere in football
Another uphill battle having a good offense against SEC defenses coaching at Vanderbilt lol come on roam it’s hard moving the ball on SEC defenses especially at Vanderbilt. Donovan’s offenses was helping win 9 game a year when the SEC was dominating college football. Check Ohio States record against that bunch. They didn’t fair any better on offense than Vanderbilt did
Same reason why I wished Rahne to be gone. He may have the necessary skills to perform the job ... but we saw all he had, it wasn't going to get any better. To jump into the "Elite" category, this team needed better. Now whether we can achieve that with Bowen, or Seider, or someone new, I don't care, I just want us to get there.

At some point an offense needs to get better, I don't care if they were in the SEC, Stoops handled his business on the defensive side at Vanderbilt and Donovan didn't. 3 years, better players, zero improvement.
Like I said y’all may be right I’m just looking at Moorhead calling the plays against SEC defenses and he’s not doing any better than Donovan did Probably not as good from what I see and he’s got better players than Vanderbilt.
