This stinks let’s get 8 teams! Sitting here at the house in Daytona and I can hear the Busch cars racing at Daytona. We will be there tomorrow baby 😁🇺🇸

Looks like the same ol', same ol'!
Not a surprise. The ACC, SEC and EsPIN currently get everything they want and will never agree to anything that includes others
Prog
Nor really a big deal, even if they made an agreement to expand it wouldn't have gone into effect until 2023-2024 at the earliest. Basically all this does it make the wait 2 more years, after the deal expires they will expand.
@roaminglion I agree its not a big deal, maybe for a different reason...There's nothing driving this, semi final games are mostly non -competitive..contrasted with the NFL , which had a great tournament this yr..
Cincinnati and Michigan had great yrs, Cincy undefeated, with big win at ND;.UM winning Big 10, and thrashing OSU..Yet they barely showed up in semis..Do we really need twelve teams to tell us Georgia-Bama Should BE IN FINAL VS 4 TEAMS, THINK NOT.
I say 16...Why is the FBS any different than the other divisions in college football? I don't wanna hear any bullshit about there aren't 16 teams worthy to play in a playoff for a national championship cause that is exactly what it is bullshit...I also don't wanna hear the nonsense that 15 or 16 games is too many games for these "student athletes" cause that is total bullshit too...If every other division can play 15 or 16 games than these professional athletes from the top division can play 15 or 16 games too...Lets bring back competition again and cut out the beauty contest this thing has become...Make the regular season matter and conference championships matter...Give the top 8 seeds home games and the top seeds in every round except the semi finals and finals the home team in their stadium...Make these southern teams play meaningful playoff football in places like michigan, pennsylvania, ohio etc...Something tells me the outcomes would be a little different if these southern teams were forced to play in 25 degrees with snow falling...

Because the level of competitions is vastly superior day in and day out. The sheer physicality and brutality difference between FCS and FBS is light years, as many who have made the change over have attested to.
You can't say you want 16 teams, and then also say "Make the regular season matter and conference championships matter". Because with 16 teams, championships don't matter. Who cares if you win the Big Ten? Doesn't matter as long as you get picked for the 16 spots.
Also, giving the top 8 seeds home games sounds good to fans, but it's a logistical nightmare for the schools. That's why many of them said they didn't want them
My opinion is it does and will matter...Being the B1G champ will mean at worst you will be a 5 seed and most years be the 1 or 2 seed which means you will be hosting playoff games up until the semifinals...That is a huge advantage as these southern teams will be traveling north to play you rather than playing you in atlanta, new orleans, miami, tampa or orlando as is the case now...As far as physicality is concerned I don't buy it...The NFL plays 17 games and goes into the playoffs and every other division in college football does the same...Enough of the excuses...These big time college programs are professional teams anymore...These big time programs have more money access to better means of travel than the lower division schools and they navigate the "logistics" of the 16 playoff system just fine...Sorry but I just ain't buying that argument...To me it rings hollow...If every other division in college football can do it then I am quite certain the division with the most money, best means of travel and bigger support staffs can certainly manage to do the same...To me these are all excuses and poor ones at that...
I agree with Roam, 8 is enough but if there’s a time where we have 10 to 12 teams that has a chance to beat the top dawgs then put more teams in but as of today 8 is enough we want to keep the playoffs competitive there’s just a huge drop off in talent after the top 8 teams.
