Good morning. Any thoughts on the recruiting class?
Is it just me, or are people less excited than usual at signing day anymore? It's almost like the portal eclipsed it and the whole pomp and circumstance isn't what it used to be. Anyways...
I have my eye on Peter Gonzalez, it's nice to see a big bodied WR in the mix. We've sorely needed one, and this kid seems to fit the bill. 6'3" and 200 lbs coming out of High School - I'd see him at at least 6'3" - 6'4" 210-220 WR with some speed. Hopefully he can turn into something resembling Godwin.
IMO there is a sentiment that it doesn't make any difference to a point because it's always about next year, lol.
The one thing I've gotten tired of already is the word "elite". Elite team, elite player, elite program, elite my ass. Elite is such a bull shit word like stud being tossed around a year or so ago, "stud this, stud that, the stud that ended up being a dud". Next year I think the new word should be "potential" so that we can finally say "enough of the potential stud who is going to be elite because the fact of the matter is that it means he didn't do shit and ended up retiring". Speaking of which I never knew any one who retired broke much less a kid who retired from high school or collegiate ball, but joke is on us now, because an elite stud who had a lot of potential can now retire due to the NIL!
The game has changed.
@psu61 it’s always about the next game and the games we won for me brother. Homer and Roam get on my back sometimes because that’s exactly the way I think. I don’t know what will happen the next time we play Oregon and Washington but what I do know is we usually kick their ass when we do play ‘em and that’s what I go by. Right now I’m more concerned getting that peach bowl win and get to 11 wins that’s the goal plus I’ll be there lol
Who was the stud that ended up a dud? Just asking lol
