I agree mb, on defense you have to earn wearing #31 and #11, only defense? IMO them 2 numbers are special lol

Makes sense, he was a safety in HS from what I know, and it was his best position.  It would not surprise me if this was the plan all along, to get him some reps last year with Safety being held up by two seniors.

More playing time to be had at CB, good experience.

Wade's primary positions at Clairmont were CB and RB. Coming out of HS he was rated by 247sports at CB.

I watched Wade play a lot of ball and my opinion the kid can be a bob sanders type of safety. I think he will shine at safety long side Reid

I was thinking the same thing about the Sanders comparison. I always wondered how he ended up at Iowa? Did Joe not recruit him? He was very good.

Maybe I'm mixing him up with Ford, because they were always in the same sentence during recruiting.

Could have sworn people projected him at safety though

Perhaps! Paris Ford was a Steel Valley Safety/WR that signed with Pitt last June.

Until recently few Cathedral Prep players ever went to Penn State. The great teams of 1999 and 2000 that produced something like 8 D1 players, only Charles Rush went to Penn State. Being fron western Pennsylvania, Kirk Ferentz had a pipeline to Cathedral Prep because legendary line coach who built the great teams at Erie McDowell then Pitt became a volunteer coach at Prep. Sanders and Eddie Hinkle went to Iowa ( he killed Penn State when they played). Additionally, Jovan Johnson from Erie Mercyhurst starred for Iowa the same years. So ya, PSU ignoring northwest Pennsylvania those years left open a vacuum filled by Iowa and Wisconsin.
