Lamont Wade stepped up big last year and had a very good season I was proud of him and I’ll be pulling for him playing in the NFL. He’s going to be a steal for kickoff returns.

I don't really agree that he is a big loss. Honestly, I never thought he was a great safety. He came on later in the year but I think he will be replaced just fine.

Also, we have Dotson. The return game will be fine.

I agree roam. I think Wade was a bit overrated coming out of high school. The position will be improved this year. I do wish him the best as I do all Penn Staters and hope he makes the roster.

I thought he did good. Good at forcing turnovers. May have acted silly after some plays. Franklin and staff really need to start bringing back the Pennsylvania talent and keep them home. Not sure what happened the past few years. Recruiting kind of took a nosedive.  I think it has something to do with Sandy's budgeting.

Recruiting is just fine and we have a really good class coming in this year. It’s hard to recruit against Ohio State when they get pandered to like letting Justin Fields play without sitting a year. Last time when Ohio State lost their starting QB with Jim Trussell unexpectedly they went 6-7 and the kid that played was a backup true 5* freshman. Hopefully with transfer rules all teams will be playing by the same rules without the ncaa or big 10 leadership having to put their 2 cents in it and y’all will see Ohio St won’t have an advantage anymore and they won’t dominate like they have been.

2 years ago instead of Ohio st losing 3 or 4 games and possibly taking a little hit in recruiting Justin  Fields was able to step right in and play without having to sit a year and it saved ‘em and they made the playoffs which helped them recruit even better. This is just my opinion but it’s exactly what I see.

@forum-titan Sounds like a play right out of the ol' Rutgers fan playbook, "Stay home, rep your state!" Which is great, unless it's not where you want to go to school. Kids will go where they want and feel they'll get playing time, but hopefully they also want get an education/degree in the field they want. All schools are not created equal in their fields of study. So yeah, play ball, but also go to the school that best covers the area you want to excel in. Because the odds are pretty good, you won't be playing on Sundays.

"Sandy's budget" is keeping the PSU coaches from recruiting in PA, but here's money to recruit in every other state in the US and a few Providences in Canada? Not buying it.

No, recruiting didn't take a nosedive. What on earth?

We have been ranked in the top 15 of recruiting 3 of the past 4 years. The only year we weren’t (ranked 21), it was a small class of only 16 recruits.

What is this nosedive you are talking about?

Where has all the Pennsylvania talent been going lately? Big deal,  they got a few from the transfer portal. Transfer portal is a cheaper way to recruit instead of going out and knocking on the door.  Budget 101. You can still sing me the alphabet.

Forum Titanic, can you please explain what you mean when you say "you can sing me the alphabet"? I have never heard that before and I am confused by your use of it.

6 of the top 10 in 2018

5 of the top 10 in 2019

2 of the top 10 in 2020

Only 1 in 2021

4 of top 10 committed for 2022, 2 more near locks.

Again... what are you talking about. Also, please explain why a 5 star from Virginia doesn’t matter if we miss on a kid from PA. 🤦‍♂️

@roaminglion Counter to what Tieten says, 247sports says so far 2022 is "terrific".
