Oluwole Betiku is in the Portal. I know he was a big recruit for us. And I believe it came down to PSU , USC and Maryland at the time of his commitment. Plus he is Lavars adopted son. Don’t know much about what went on with him at USC. But the kid looks very put together and football ready. I remember he was pretty raw and played a small amount of football. And was a 5 star recruit.
Maybe somebody can shed some light rather James Franklin is considering taking transfers? I haven’t heard anything except for the Virginia OL player?
I don't want to open up a can of worms or heated discussion, just offering my uneducated, biased opinion. If I were a coach, I'd think hard and long before I'd consider taking a transfer. I would question the kid's commitment & loyalty and more importantly would be concerned about disrupting team chemistry. If a transfer comes in and takes a spot from a kid who has been busting his hump, it's not a good thing. And no, I don't think it's the same as a H.S. recruit coming in and displacing an existing player. In my opinion they are two different situations.
If JUCO players can come in, take a spot, and be productive then I have no problem with a transfer from another school. I have no idea why people think this is a loyalty or commitment issue. We seem to hold 18 year old kids to higher standards than we do coaches or ourselves.

I can see your side Roam, but I still hold to my opinion. I don't see a JUCO transfer as being a loyalty or commitment issue, but believe it could still have a negative effect on team chemistry. I guess that's why I'm not a coach!
Devil's advocate here Bob, are you with the same crush you had in high school?
No, I entered the transfer portal, LOL!
