James Franklin sucks, we have a new OC and DC and rebuilding the defense, OL and WR’s and Penn St is the 3rd best team over the last 10 years playing the defending champions of the PAC and one of their traditional heavyweights and UCLA an ok team for the PAC and IMO we kick the shit out of ‘em. These teams will get a taste of big 10 football…that’s what I mean.
And Washington is really going to get an ass full of Big 10 football during the whiteout 😁🇺🇸🍺
No Franklin doesn’t suck but last year in the Michigan game he showed us what and who he really is and the tiny smidgen of hope I had left was dead. I’m not sure how or why you pretend you didn’t say the things about him that you did during and after that game because no one had anything good to say about him in the live chat. Franklin is a good coach and very good recruiter but has shown that when it comes to matching wits with elite coaches in big games he doesn’t have it.
The only way PSU will have a shot at a conference and national championship is if Allar is on fire like Joe Burrough was when LSU won it all and from what I’m hearing Drew has a total grasp and understanding of this new offense under Kotelnicki. Will he become that guy? Only time will tell.
@psujoe lol Beat them like a rug, still a good metaphor. A bit dated, but in days gone by, they did beat rugs too.
@psujoe I hope Allar comes up big. But also hope if he doesn't, we stick Pribula in and see if ha can drive the bus.
@roaminglion if you think Utah had the better team have at it I don’t think it was even close. we win 9 out of 10 games playing Utah regardless. My point about players missing is with good QB play we beat Ole Miss regardless of players sitting out just giving my opinion we would’ve beat them if all our players played even with bad QB play that doesn’t mean I’m complaining about it so it’s not BS.
@psujoe I’ve been just as frustrated as everybody here about losing to Ohio St and Michigan that’s the 2 games he’s struggled in and imo he needs to win one of those games but the truth is Ohio St has better players and Michigan did go undefeated last year and has only lost 2 or 3 games in the last 3 years so it’s been an uphill battle for beating them 2 teams. Georgia and Alabama are the only 2 teams that might have done better. This will change if we can get the QB playing better. To be elite you have to be elite at QB just look at Clemson when they had an elite QB..they were playing in NC. games.
Homer sounds a little optimistic on what’s he’s hearing so that’s dang good news! Let’s go Penn State baby
Let's beat the rug out of the Mountaineers!
Yea it's BS based on nothing.@roaminglion if you think Utah had the better team have at it I don’t think it was even close. we win 9 out of 10 games playing Utah regardless. We lose to Ole Miss: "Without optouts we would have won"
We beat Utah: "Without optouts we still would have won"
Neither one of those things are provable. At all. You just want them to be true.

The main thing I’m hearing is that Allar looks like a completely different person than he was a year ago at this time. They say he’s confident and almost cocky. On the other hand freshman WR Denmark is the only one of that group generating any kind of excitement and Julian Fleming has been a disappointment other than his blocking.
Oh man if Allar makes a big leap it would be huge for our offense.Homer sounds a little optimistic on what’s he’s hearing so that’s dang good news! Let’s go Penn State baby

Wallace is kinda on the smallish side but hopefully he avoids the injury bug and steps up as a go to WR. We’re still in desperate need of a 6’3-6’4 difference making deep threat.
Kinda confirming my fears about the wr room.
@psujoe Can’t remember the WR’s coach name a couple of years ago and I believe James Franklin fired him and I thought the dude was doing a good job. James Franklin may have his reasons but we’ve definitely took a step back at WR since he was shown the door. Was it stubberfield?
@southern-psu-fan yes it was Stubblefield. The guy we have on staff now has yeet to make an impression
Never understood this hire, at Virginia he coached WRs for almost 10 years and only 1 was ever drafted into the NFL. After 3 years that guy wasn't even on a roster.@southern-psu-fan yes it was Stubblefield. The guy we have on staff now has yeet to make an impression
Not sure why he's here.
...and one VA recruit since he got here, a 3* TE in 2025. Woof.@roaminglion Recruiting in VA, that’s the only reason.

He went 0 for 8 on PSU’s top receiver targets in the 2025 class and has no significant commitments in the class of 2026.
Most of the receivers he’s signed are slot type receivers that are only 5’9”-5’11”
It's unbelievable what a good, tall, physical receiver can do for a QB. We haven't had one here since Godwin left in 2016.
Agree...You need WR's that are 6'2" and no less.
