I have no idea how to pick a top five yet, but here are the teams I think have a shot to make the CFP next year by conference:
ACC: 1. Clemson
SEC: 1. Florida 2. Alabama 3. LSU 4. Georgia
Big Ten: 1. Ohio State 2. Penn State
Big 12: 1. Oklahoma
Pac 12: 1. Oregon 2. USC
I just don't see any other teams that I think have a chance to get to the CFP.
***NOTE - Just because I put teams from the Big 12 and Pac 12 on there doesn't mean I think they are a top 4 team. But playing in their conference gives them a chance, both of those conferences aren't good. The ACC outside of Clemson is just bad, though I think Norvell will have FSU up at Clemson's level in a few years. VT seems like they are turning a corner too.
I'm going out on a limb and say any team in the top 15 of the final CFP ranking has a shot at top 5 and playoff.
They know I like playing around with ‘em lol. I think the QB Alabama has now is better than Tua that kid can play. I believe Penn State and Auburn are the 2 teams next year people better watch out for.

Why? I know it's in Atlanta but it means we didn't make the CFP.
I thought the peach bowl was part of the playoffs. I want the playoffs regardless of what bowl.
It was this year but it rotates... next year the semi's are the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl.
Doubt Utah will be in the conversation next year.
