#1 Georgia

#2 Ohio State

# 3 Alabama

#4 Michigan

#5 Cincinnati

We only rank the top 5 teams here at nits of the round table because this is where the big dawgs play. I have ND on the outside looking in this week. Depends on how Michigan and Alabama finish out. I’m still feeling a little better about Cincinnati getting in just not there yet but that 103rd ranked schedule is a killer for ‘em. Still have some business left to be played on the field but man it’s gettin down to nitty gritty time baby where the big dawgs always step up.

Strength of schedule is an interesting metric.

I wonder how the top 5-10 fare at the end of the regular season in this category on a regular basis, throwing out the 2020 season?

FD, please check on the link above and you’ll see the stats and notice ole southern has 2 big 10 teams in the top 4 because ole southern ranks a true top 5 I don’t get into the politics I ranked these teams the way they should be ranked and I only rank the top 5 teams because this is where the big dawgs play. And for all you Cincinnati fans you notice ole southern has them 5th 😁

Southern you twist yourself into a pretzel trying to justify putting in 2 SEC teams when that conference has gotten beat in most of their out of conference games THIS YEAR...Where is their signature win? Bama beating a mediocre at best Miami team the first week? Georgia beating a mediocre Clemson team to open the season? Who have they played and beat? What do you base the claim that they are the best conference on? I can logically make a case that the B1G is the best conference, the Pac 12 is #2 and the Big 12 is #3...Why would you give the 4th best conference in the country preference over 3 better conferences? The games matter or they should...I don't know where you get this strength of schedule stuff from but Cincy has better wins that Bama and Georgia...Notre Dame has 1 loss to an undefeated Cincy team...This is a big IF but if Auburn beats Bama and Bama beats Georgia in the SEC title game I don't think an SEC should get in over the 1 loss B1G champ, a 1 loss Big 12 champ, Cincy and 1 loss Notre Dame...Again...Who has the SEC conference played and beat? Where is the signature win? Minnesota went out to Colorado and beat em 30-0...Texas A&M was lucky to beat Colorado and they beat Bama...The ACC is a weak conference this year and it just so happens the 2 big wins the SEC has is against 2 mediocre at best ACC teams...No amount of spin is gonna change it...The games were played and if you ignore the results of the games than you turn this thing into a sham and a farce...THIS YEAR the SEC isn't as good of a conference as the B1G, Pac 12 an Big 12...It's as simple as that...

@the-funeral-director  I only want power 5 conference champs in the playoffs and I promise you I hope Georgia gets beat and missed out because I want to hear Kirby cry again. The big 12 and PAC is not better than the SEC, the SEC big dawgs down to the bottom feeders would give both them conferences a beat down come on FD you know better than that. We will see when the bowl season gets here.

What is the Big Ten's signature win? We haven't even beaten anyone currently ranked, have we? Every currently ranked team that the Big Ten played OOC... beat us. Not only us, our best teams.

The bowl season means nothing other than the CFP...The best players from these teams sit out so you really have no idea...The B1G, Pac 12 and Big 12 are better than the SEC this year in my opinion...To answer Roam...You have no idea regarding Bama or Georgia cause they haven't played anybody...Ohio State lost to Oregon early in the season to a very good Oregon team when they clearly were struggling with a rookie QB and settling down their defense...They are certainly a better team right now than they were then...The better teams in the B1G haven't lost many out of conference games this season...As a conference the B1G has fared very well out of conference this season...You can't say that for the SEC...

Wisconsin, Purdue, and Ohio State all lost out of conference. Michigan played nobody. These are the teams in contention for the top spots in the Big Ten.

I don't care if LSU lost to UCLA or Auburn lost to us. Those two teams are in last place in the SEC West. Litterally the two worst teams in the SEC West. Who cares if last place teams lost.

You say Clemson is average? Yeah... but still better than anyone in the Big Ten has beat OOC.

Also, I never argued Georgia and Alabama played anyone good. To the contrary, I said they haven't and don't find the SEC is any better than anyone else.

That said, I am not the one calling out the SEC for their OOC wins and then pointing to the Big Ten like we have some great OOC record.

I can’t prove anything but I would think the SEC has more players to sit out bowl games more than any other conference but regardless the bowl season gives us a good feel who has the strongest conference. There might not be a dominating conference this year but as for the playoffs I don’t see any players sitting out.
