I'd be happy if he earned his $3.5 M NIL money and showed some fire & leadership.  Watching his body language and side line comportment, it seems like it's all about Drew, IMO!

You mean “Check Down” Drew.

Yessiree, BT.  Now it's up to the conductor, ride Drew down to the end of the track or switch over to Gronk if the train is derailing.

GRUNK !! Gronk played in NE

Why the heck is beating Oklahoma State such a big deal? They lost to Colorado 52-0 last year and are 1-10 in their last 11 games, yet people are acting as if they are some good team.

Not sure why beating them is so impressive

@roaminglion  absolutely Oklahoma St stinks and Oregon went out and laid the wood to ‘em. FIU ain’t all that either and we struggled to score points. You may be right about holding back but we all said the same thing last year. I see 10-2 unless the offense picks it up. You gotta score points to beat Oregon and Ohio St we will see. I’m pulling for the kid but I sure wish I see what some of y’all see 😂 I’m damn sure pulling for him he’s my #1 QB this year.

LSU struggled against Louisiana Tech and Georgia didn't look good against Austin Peay.

It's okay, teams phone it in sometimes in these games.

@roaminglion I agree but Saturday let’s lay the wood to Villanova and get the offense running on all cylinders.

even though HarrisonWallace is kicking some butt at Ole Miss I still believe we got 3 good ones from the portal.

Why do people come in here every year and say we’re holding back or not showing our playbook? You’d think they would have learned their lesson by now and know that’s not true. And do they think that all these other teams that are making plays against the patsie teams are holding back too or are those teams utilizing the entire playbook?

So you think Andy Kolnicky suddenly decided to stop gadget plays, stop all the motion, and everything else he did at Kansas and now here to be a vanilla coordinator after 5 years?

So you think all those gadget plays, motion and everything else are a secret and not showing them is going to keep teams from game planning for it? You’d think practicing those things against a real opponent would only make the team better. Maybe Allars poor performance was just an act meant to throw future opponents off too?

Drew Allar has been a good QB to get us 10 wins which is pretty good but I just ain’t seen nothing to make me believe he can beat the heavyweights. We did beat USC at USC he deserves credit for that but playing teams apples to apples we’re 0-6 and he’s one of the reasons. We play Oregon in a few weeks so he can prove me wrong and I welcome being proven wrong on this. Just win baby!

Who cares what I think, I don't know why they are doing it. But it's pretty darn clear we aren't, looking at the previous years Andy Kolnicky was an OC.

Yeah Allar didn't play well, I never said he did.

I’ve seen the same trends here:

1. Blame the QB, call for his back up to play. The next year that back up becomes the starter, restart the process.

2. If by chance the QB isn’t the person ruining the game then blame James Franklin.

3. Compare every current team to teams past who didn’t win the national championship and had multiple loses to non ranked opponents.

The QB comparisons are what give me a laugh, if we apply the same standard we’re holding drew to then the next best QB before him is Kerry Collins, 31 years ago. Every QB after either had losses to non ranked opponents, failed to beat OSU/UM or both and NONE in that time period won a National Championship.

Lastly, if you believe you need to use your entire playbook to beat FIU and Nevada who you have a 10x roster and staff advantage on then I do not know what to tell you.

I’ve definitely called for the backup when McSorley was riding the pine behind Hack and last year. This year DA is the man he definitely gives us the best chance to win but I’d love to see Grunk in some backup but we can’t get a big enough lead on Nevada and FIU to get him in the early lol

We don’t have a whole lot of tape because James Franklin won’t never give another QB a chance when we can see another QB offers something different that can help win football games. We all saw what McSorley did in the Georgia game he lit their defense up when he came in after Hack got hurt and McSorley was better the whole time he just didn’t get better the game he stepped in. 3 games that I watched where I thought Pribula give us a chance to win and he actually did help win 2 of the games against Rutgers and Wisconsin I believe we lose both these games if DA stayed in the games. Y’all seen with your own eyes how bad DA was in the Ole Miss game DA goes out for 1 series and Pribula comes in and the offense started clicking and he throws a TD pass then back to the Pine he went and here comes DA back in and the offense was garbage the rest of the game. It’s early but Pribula is looking pretty good and we look the same on offense as the last 2 years. Pribula is water under the bridge DA is the man but if you wonder why some of us question James Franklin on the QB, that’s why.

@southern-psu-fan You think this helps with recruiting? You’re a 4-5 star recruit looking at PSU and you see the coach will just pull you in a 34-0 victory to see what a back up can do. You’re a 4-5 star you see another 4-5 star go out there and lose zero games to unranked opponents as a five star but the coach wants to see what local 3 star can do just in case? I know top recruits can’t wait to sign knowing they could lose their job even during wins.

In this current climate of college football I think all the 4 and 5 star kids are looking for is who writes the biggest check...They are going where the money is just like they did in years past...Only difference now is EVERYBODY is on equal footing...I never had a problem when I got pulled from a blowout game...It was great to see the guys who I practiced against every day get some playing time...Everybody has a bad day and a bad game...When those days happen to a player I like to see how he responds to it...To me that is the most revealing part of a persons makeup...How does that person respond? From what I am seeing over and over again with Allar is he pouts, wants the pity party and disappears into the woodwork...That concerns me as that has been his M.O. since he got to Penn State...Winning players don't demonstrate that behavior...That has been my experience in my 55 years of either playing, coaching or watching and that trait is universal to any sport...Not everybody gets vocal or demonstrative but winning players demonstrate a sense of resolve and project confidence even when things are tough...I don't see this from Allar and it is concerning...

If you think Drew is motivated by money I think you’re mistaken, if you listen to interviews from him he’s turned down more deals than he’s taken by his own admission. He comes from a good family, so what he doesn’t react the way you want him too. If you can’t tell that kid is his own hardest critic then you’re missing the point. Congratulations you played football, so did I. Guess what we have in common, neither of us played no where near the level he has or could even understand the pressures that come with commanding the Offense of the #2 team in the country and as well as being a potential 1st round pick. At the end of the day, he’s still a 21 year old college student regardless of his financial situation.

Just because you're a 4-5 star recruit doesn't entitle you to anything.  You should have to earn it with your performance.  Coaching decisions as to pt should be based on the needs and betterment of the team, not made to stroke a youngster's ego!  Even if you're playing lights out, sometimes you may need to be pulled to develop depth for the good of the team.  IMO, that's where Franklin comes up short.  It seems like he readily does this for other positions, but not his star QB!

@rip Well then hold Paterno to the same standard then, outside of one good season with Michael Robinson and the 1994 team, how is it any different? What did he have to show for it? Neither have won a national championship in 39 years.

@rip So Bill Bellichek should have pulled Tom Brady to develop the back up just in case? Tom I know you’re playing lights out I’m going to sit you against the Jets to help develop the depth chart just in case. Make it make sense.

@kularrow not this year buddy DA is the man. Last year he deserved to be benched a few games but this year he’s definitely our QB.

Yep, unless he earns a benching by his play again!
