@roaminglion I said if you are satisfied I’m not saying you are but whoever is pulling the strings at Penn St is satisfied with the bottom feeders. James Franklin ain’t got no say so on who we play? From where I’m sitting it look like we don’t want to play Ohio St and Michigan unless the big 10 makes us and the OOC schedule is weak and imo it’s not a good look for a powerhouse team like Penn St.  Anybody that loves Penn St should want to play these teams not run from them. I’m hoping this is over James Franklin head and he had nothing to do with the scheduling Ive always thought James Franklin loved competition.

When the sanctions came down and we were playing with one hand tied behind our backs every game was a nail biter even teams like Rutgers and Michigan State. I love the feeling not knowing if you’re going to win. Penn State is stacked and most of the big 10 teams don’t have a chance that’s why I want 4 tough games a year I love the feeling of not knowing if you can win. I love the games regardless but playing teams like USC, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon is a lot of fun because you just don’t know.

My God have things changed since my college days. Since when was a "good loss" and a "bad win" a thing?? That's another whole discussion for another day.  Honestly, as a PSU alum and a letterman, I'm quite frankly embarrassed by the 3 candy-asses that we have scheduled.  I get that you need "one warm-up game" but this borders on lunacy. And PLEASE, spare me with the "it gives a lesser known team a chance at a big payday". D1is big boy sports and if you cant run with the big dogs, stay up on the porch.  Bottom line, iron sharpens iron. Play one cup-cake if you must but schedule real teams the rest of the way out. Was it PSU Joe that suggested playing Pitt again?  I'd be down for that.

Hope everyone is doing well

@thepakid I agree with all of that, would love to see at least some regional rivals on the schedule every year. Pitt, WVU, and Syracuse would be nice to see every year. Call up Duke now that Manny is there and get some games. Let Pty at VT know we are down to schedule something. Call up another SEC team and get a home and home like we did with Alabama 2010/2011 and Auburn a couple years back.

Lots of teams to schedule that would at least be good matchups.

@thepakid  I’ve been crying like a broke dick dawg for the last 10 years getting Pitt back on the schedule and play a team like Auburn. GT plays Georgia and Colorado this year, Georgia and Tennessee next year and the last 2 years they played Georgia and ole Miss and GT ain’t got nowhere near the studs Penn St got. I do believe homer is for playing Pitt though. Homer spending that money on gimme games 😂

@thepakid For years I’ve been against putting sPitt back on the schedule but after Saturdays game I’ll take anything that would spice up the schedule at least a little. We deserve all the criticism we get.

Enjoy the game tomorrow. I'm not watching any games until September 27th. Besides,  it's too nice outside. Lots of things to do outside.

Penn state should "Dog Walk" this team tomorrow.  FIU fans should Enjoy watching the Penn State RB's walk into the end zone on just about every drive. I'm sure the FIU defense will be more than happy to assist the PSU offense.

If you only watch when it is a "good matchup", are you really a fan of the team or just a fan of good matchups?

Asking for a friend

Major changes are coming to the transfer portal in college football after the NCAA FBS Oversight Committee voted Thursday to move to a January transfer window and eliminate the spring window.  Just read this on espn

Florida has Texas, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Texas A&M in the next 5 games. That looks brutal

Good, common sense change

Just looked at the Oregon schedule prior to the whiteout and they’re playing a competent non conference schedule of Montanna State , Oklahoma State, Oregon State plus  have a B1G matchup vs Northwestern. Have to seriously wonder how much of an impact that will have on 9/27

@psujoe my son told me it’s possible we were supposed to play VT but because of COVID the games got canceled. He heard it somewhere but doesn’t know if it’s true? We did have them scheduled but I can’t remember when.

@southern-psu-fan

It' true, Southern.  Your son heard right.

"The 2025 Penn State vs. Virginia Tech football game was cancelled, not due to an immediate event, but because the 2020 game in the series was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing Virginia Tech to cancel the 2025 return game in response. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Penn State, with the Hokies visiting in 2025 as part of a home-and-home series where Penn State was supposed to travel to Blacksburg in 2020. Penn State has since filled the void in their 2025 schedule with FIU."

The above thanks to AI!

I’m getting a little nervous about Oregon they destroyed Oklahoma St but Oklahoma State has fallen off the last few years and their defense stinks. Jim Knowles and the defense better be ready. It’s just 2 games and I’m happy with our WR’s but Harrison Wallace lll is kicking some ass at Ole Miss. Our WR’s are kicking some butt too they seem to fit right in plus they are giving help in special teams.

And efforts at down field blocking (see Allen's long run)!

Oklahoma laid it on Michigan too. Oklahoma played hard and wanted that game.

I watched that game, and IMO it came down to one thing...

They both had new QBs, but one was a true freshman and the other had a lot of experience in the same system at WSU. It was clear that the Oklahoma QB and offense were more prepared for the game because of that.

Only a little nervous? After the Oregon State game they are going to be battle tested and fired up coming in to the whiteout. PSU has looked nothing like a team deserving of a top ten ranking and unless they get their heads out of their ass are going to get destroyed on 9/27.

I ain't concerned about the schedule at all...This is another ploy by ESPN to move the goalposts regarding seeding and who gets in the playoff...You all tell me whats worse? Losing to USF at home or beating FIU 37-0? Again LSU beats Clemson at Clemson and right away put em in the championship game...Problem is Clemson ain't that good as Frickin Troy State almost beat them at their building...Penn State has to improve each week and win their game...They win every game they are in...Simple as that...Win and you are in...My concern right now is they have played 2 games where the opposition made it their #1 priority to stop the run game...The difference between the 2 games in my opinion was the QB play...Yes they dropped some balls but he also missed some throws and missed some guys that were open...I blame some of this on the coordinator as well...It is a sad day when a busy funeral director tunes into the game in between funerals and sees a couple of plays and knows to throw to the Tight End as they don't have enough players to cover them with the scheme they are using...This guy is getting paid millions and this is his only job...He is sitting in a booth with the best perspective of what's happening on the field and had a week to look over tape...Penn State got 3 very good if not great receivers through the portal and also have the best RB tandem in the country along with a top O-Line and above average TE's...The weapons are there...I don't want to hear anymore excuses...If this goes south I am looking at 3 people...Allar, Kotelnicki and Franklin...This is Allar's 3rd year...What he did yesterday gives me no confidence that this kid isn't going to shit the bed the next big game...I don't want to hear any talk of I got to get better, I got to work on some things...etc. etc...That is what you did the last 2 seasons and this off season...This is the real thing now...If this kid can't get it done get him out and see what the other kid has...Kotelnicki needs to pull his head out of his ass too...It shouldn't have taken him a whole half of football to make the adjustments he made...If you have any doubts what blueprint EVERY team is going to use against Penn State you have seen it the first 2 games...Stack the box and make Allar beat us...At this point I don't know if he can...
